I know we can't believe the ridiculous Madrid papers but this does not look good...agian !! ----------------------------------- MADRID (AFP) - Lyon's Mali international Mahamadou Diarra has "angered" Manchester United bosses by claiming he favours a move to Real Madrid. According to the Madrid daily, Diarra's agent Frederic Guerra had agreed a transfer fee with the English Premiership giants - 30 million euros (38 million dollars) - and the duration of the contract and all that was required was the player's signature - but Diarra broke off negotiations with United, according to Spanish newspaper As on Monday The midfielder then told his agent that "he prefers to join Real Madrid and that he will not reply to Manchester, something that has angered the English club," added the newsaper.
They claim Guerra will meet with Real's chiefs to express the 25-year-old player's desire to join them. ---------------------------------------- By the way I think I'll get my agent to say that I would like to play for Real and see what happens, didn't think you could chose to that extent !!

to be honest if this at all true...then i wouldnt want diarra at man utd....maybe we cant afford to take the moral high ground in such matters (due to our need for new midfielders)....but still him clearly not wanting to sign for us, should tell us something about him...i mean its not like we r liverpool and a move to us would b a backwards step....who does he think he is?

Oh for fuck sake, at this rate we’ll be signing the likes of Albert Jarret and Rowan Vine. Something needs to be done about this. I’ve said before, whether we’ve wanted them or not, first we miss out on Ballack, then Berbatov and not to mention we didn’t pursue Ronaldinho and Robben, like I said, whether we wanted them or not, we seem to go in for players and dilly dally the fuck about, so who’s next?
The one player we were strongly pointed towards this season, Diarra. And now there is a possibility he’s going to Madrid. Whether you rated him or not guys, this transfer saga sucks.

It is getting to be a bit like a stuck record. In for someone, either they're not interested or are until Chavski come in. We are in for another shite summer of bullshit and in the end we'll get our 3rd or 4th choice option. Now more than ever, with the World Cup approaching, we must buy sooner than later. After the World Cup (big tournament) we'll pay too much for a flash in the pan......again........Poborski............DJ2...........Jordi

Yeah, what's the deal here because I was tired of speculation several weeks ago, this is just annoying. If he wants to play for Madrid then so be it, we don't need players who don't want to be at United. Where are the players who are excited at the prospect of coming to Old Trafford? It's not like we're a bottom table team, we came in second and will be in the CL next season!

I wouldn't trust it too much apparently he said he was happy to join united in the news of the world lol. Until an official from Lyon or United speaks on the matter im not going to get too worried.

Now that's not the way to talk to our European neighbours even if you are right. The point is "do we know who we want?" I think possibly not. The big problem is possibly that our "makeweights" don't want to go where we're putting them. Why should Silvestre go to Lyon? He's probably on a fair screw here - more than there I'll wager - so why be shipped off. Similarly, Ruud is worth a lot of transfer kitty and again he won't go till after the World Cup. It's just that they should watch the Noel Edmonds crap prog to see what they're gonna finish up with if they do have a crap Cup. It's not as though Ruud as cut much ice with Holland for a while. In the meantime, sit back and wait - we can always get Miller back from Leeds..........................

I don't believe a word of it and in any case, what else are the Spanish newspapers going to say?
They're always going to say he's going to Real Madrid!

Not a great babelfish translation, but basically it looks like the spanish press were talking rubbish, or the agent is. -------------------------------------- Frederic Guerra contradicted the rumours of contact of Mahamadou Diarra with Manchester United and Real Madrid. The agent of the player Malian known as not to have received any request. "I had to date any request relating to Mahamadou Diarra, neither with Real, nor with Manchester. I do not know how I could have met the leaders of Real considering there is not currently. Lastly, to conclude a transfer, the two clubs negotiate between them without for all this the agent of the player is not well-informed. I never had the journalists of Ace to the telephone, nor elsewhere "declared Monday with AFP Frederic Guerra. According to do the Spanish newspaper Have, the agent of the medium of ground Malian had agreed with the OL on an allowance of transfer of 30M? and that M.Diarra would have entrusted its preference for Real Madrid. www.football365.fr/transferts/index.shtml----EDIT--- news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/africa/5006346.stmBBC report
