Dont think we should sell him. Put it this way i'd much rather have him play for united than play against us! Seen that before england v portugal and i kept wishing he was english! Definatley rather have him hassling the opposition defences than hassling ours!

Ronaldo is class... many years left in him... selling him would be utter stupidity.

You always get a little bit of inconsistency with young players. He clearly has talent but must learn to apply it a little bit better. That will come as he matures as a player and with experience. Selling him would be a huge mistake.

Ah... now this is the thread where the Ronaldo issue is looked at in a little more detail... good.
It seems that it has come down to a choice of Ruud or Ronaldo if what we read is even half true. I am firmly on the side of Ronaldo in this debate, for footballing reasons and also moral ones.
I'll explain the moral reasons first. If you have two players that patently don't get on, as appears to be the case with these two, then something has to give if they are unable to reconcile their differences. If Ruud really did give him a slap in january and also tell him to "go running to your dad" a few months later then he is waaaaaay outta line. If it's true then I am disgusted with him as a human being... it makes Ruud nothing but a nasty bully. Fair enough if he's doing it in a match to Carvalho or Campbell, but to a young kid and team mate like Ronaldo it's just grim.
This does link to the footballing reasons though... it is well documented that Ruud is a bit of a primadonna, remember when he got subbed playing for Holland a couple of years back? Spat his dummy out good and proper. Now I don't think United are ever going to win things by having a collection of superb individuals like Chelsea, to me they have always been a TEAM. If a member of that team gets too big for his boots then it's out the door thankyouverymuch. He is already playing the media with regard to this subject, and I just feel it shows his guilt really.
Now there's been an awful lot of utter bollocks typed on 606 on the footballing reasons. I can't think who posts that crap, but it seems to me that a lot of them don't really understand football.
Just because Ruud scores a lot of goals doesn't mean he should be regarded as irreplaceable. the reason he scores a lot of goals is because he has absolute quality surrounding him all focused on trying to give him unmissable opportunities. His return on those opportunities is very good, but I feel it makes United a little one dimensional.
It's noticeable since the Premiership began that teams reliant on a single goalscorer have not been as successful as teams that have more than one avenue of attack. Shearer did it once for Blackburn, and Henry has never won back to back titles. United won it once with the Beckham/Van Nistlerooy show.
Since being reliant on Ruud we have not won as many cups as we did when we had Yorke/Cole or even Hughes/McClair. Sure he scores loads of goals, but I'm not interested in having a striker that wins the golden boot year after year if we don't get the silverware to accompany it.
So if the choice is Ronaldo or Ruud there is only one real choice. The 21 year old with a future.
