France striker Louis Saha is hoping Wayne Rooney will not be 100 percent fit at the World Cup finals. As England fans hold their breath awaiting the results of a crucial scan on the Merseysider's foot, Saha has joked that his motives are purely selfish ahead of the main event in Germany. When asked if he had spoken to his Manchester United colleague, Saha replied: "No, not yet. "I wish him good luck with his recovery but I hope he won't be 100 percent!" The former Fulham forward feels France have the right blend of youth and experience to make a major impact in the tournament, despite the camp being rocked by back-up keeper Gregory Coupet storming out of training. "I think it's going to be a very good World Cup for us," he opined on Sky Sports News. "I do think all the players are motivated. "We have players with experience players and young players who try to make their way so it's a good combination for success. "So hopefully, it's going to be a happy summer." Lol that'll make him popular with England fans

Just saw this on Sky sports news too, what do people think of Saha's chances of getting a say in in the French squad are? Competing with: Cisse Ribery Henry Trezeguet Wiltord Saha

I think he should start. He's better than Cissé, Trezeguet & Wiltord. Ribery is more of a midfield man.

I think he should be in the squad ahead of Cisse.
Cisse is downright awful, rubbish player.

Personally I hope Rooney isn't fit for the world cup either...last thing we need is a half fit rooney doing himself a mischief and being out for months, especially if Ruud goes...

Didn’t Rooney get injured, come back and score a hat trick on his debut? I know, different circumstances and all that, but the Doctors won’t allow him to play unless they know he’s fit and we won’t know until tomorrow. I go for the papers, really early in the morning, so if I see anything worth while in them, I will whack it up on here.

I always get a peak at the papers early on too so I'll do the same!
