He can resume full training in 2 weeks from now, will miss the opening game most likely, another scan will be 14th June just to make sure he's ready for full training. Sky sports got it wrong! There's a first time for everything...

by the gods how much BS has surrounded this subject lmao!
I always thought he'd be ready for a full match by the quarters and I was right!
he had 14 weeks to be ready for fenerbahce... and I think he was cotton wooled a little... 8 weeks was always more realistic... I'd expect him to play some part in the second phase, if for any other reason to try and get him up to match fitness... maybe even the whole match... it all depends on how he reacts to this 'adversity'... and so far in his career he has excelled when faced with such obstacles.
Good for him... and what's even better is that hopefully England won't be able to turn mentally and tactically lazy like they did in the euros... u know the type of thing... "give the ball to Rooney, we don't even have to think then."
England have a very good team and as soon as they start relying on one man they become a shadow of the team they should be.
I'd personally tell them to play as if they were 10 and tell Rooney to do whatever he wants... and for the rest of the team to ignore him lol.
