I would be tempted with Ronaldinho but I dont think I would do it. Rooney is young and has loads of talent and might end up better than Roonie.

Hypothetically speaking, say we could swap Rooney for any player in the world, would you want to do it? And if so, who? No Fucking way!. Not even tempted by ronaldhino, Rooney has great consistancy for his age, always performs on the big stage whereas Ronaldhino has a tendancy to drop out of some games. Don't get me wrong i'm not saying Rooney is better than him, but he sure will be soon enough!

me personally i would say no F*cking way. Rooney is a rounded player already at the age of 20, he's got strength, determination and great ability and lets face it he's really not slow. Plus to think he is still improving....damn! good question tho, if i wouldnt swap him for anyone does that mean i think he's the best player in the world.....ummm.

I wouldn’t swap him, at such a tender age he’s already being bracketed as world class material. Although Rooney hasn’t got Ronaldinhos tricks (although, who has?) it isn’t tricks that win you games, Rooney is magical, has that extra something, strength, quick turn of pace and a ferocious shot. He can make something out of nothing and that’s why he is special. I firmly believe he’ll live out his football career at united too.

I wouldn't swap Rooney for any player in the World, people can look at players who may have more tricks up their sleeve but they do not work as hard as Rooney, and dictate games even at an older age.
Rooney has still some way to go to become the finished article but already he is in the top 5 players in the world.
Rooney has a fantastic football brain, he is a team player his work rate is phenomenal, he orchestrates games he creates and scores goals.

I hate to say it, but Gerrard is the only one I'd consider - the others haven't proved themselves in the Premiership, apart from Henry who I wouldn't even swap Ruud for.
But that's just from a footballing point of view - as a Red I detest Gerrard, and Rooney just seems to symbolise everything that's right about United - passion, flair, skill, aggression and determination. Gerrard's good, but Rooney's the best thing I've seen at OT in 30 years of watching.

Gerrard? I'd rather suit up and play myself than have him at United especially after the diving....

Yeah, he is a talent...I wasn't questioning his ability as a midfielder but certainly question his scruples and we have to ask whether we want players who have a "win at all costs" mentality because it affects the image of the club as well.
