Vidic featured in more games than many expected him to as he established himself as a regular in United's back four and quickly became popular with fans at Old Trafford.
"I played 12 matches and I am not only satisfied - I am delighted”, Vidic told Uefa.com.
Vidic is suspended for the opening World Cup match against Holland and his Reds team-mates Ruud van Nistelrooy, Edwin van der Sar. But he will be available to face another Old Trafford colleague - Argentina's Gabriel Heinze in a difficult Group C.
Vidic cannot hide his admiration for his new club team-mates. He said: “In every training session I learn something from Rio Ferdinand, Edwin van der Sar, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Ruud van Nistelrooy and all the other guys.
“They are phenomenal as people," he added. "Being part of United is not hard, it is easy, because everybody is down to earth. People think that at big clubs people have big heads, but this is not true - we are happy because we are there and we are one family."
Vidic also spoke of his respect for Sir Alex Ferguson, who has helped him settle into English football, and expressed his desire to continue to improve his game in the coming seasons.
“Conversations with Sir Alex mean so much to me," he said. "I listen to him and accept every piece of advice.
"I think that I will become much better and, after totally adapting to English football, I will show my real face. Not for my own benefit - that will be for the good of the club.”
