The decision on whether Ruud stays or goes is, for me, down to who we sign in midfield. For years @ Utd we had a fantastic midfield with no predatory goalscorer there to tuck the chances away. Just as we got that player, the midfield began to disintegrate to what it is now. Ruud is a fantastic predator who will convert the vast majority of chances you give him; but he needs the chances to be created for him. If we sign good enough midfiled players then we should keep him & he WILL score goals for us. If we don't sign the right players then we are better off selling him, both for his sake & for ours, as we'll then need 2 strikers who are going to create their own chances, by coming deep or drifting wide. This isn't Ruud's game & never has been so it would be unfair to expect him to play this role. But if we don't sign the right players then we might as well raise the white flag & admit defeat because there's only so long you can get away with John O'Shea & Ryan Giggs as your 1st choice centre mid...
