From Sky Sports:
"It was a difficult game but the main thing was the result," said the Manchester United striker. "I think if I'm being honest probably the last 30 minutes better than the first 60.
"That's a positive thing for me and hopefully that will help me in the next game."
Rooney remained ever-confident that he would get his name on the scoresheet, and is convinced that England will begin to show their world class potential as the competition heats up in the knock-out stages.
"I think I've done well in the games I've played," he said. "All I'm missing now is a goal and I think that will come.
"We haven't really played our best yet and we're still in the quarter finals. If we play Holland or Portugal we will have to raise our game.
"We know we're not far away from it. But I think this is where the competition gets really tough and we'll have to be at our very best."
It's a pretty sad situation if Rooney is England's best player, when he's not even match fit. He was superb today though. Even that scouse twat Gerrard says so ;D

Thought he would have been better with a partner though, but who? I wouldnt put crouch the camel on and walcott? Svens a plonker not taking another striker, i would swap Lumpard for a striker to go with Rooney, Lamps does nothing just frets around and misses, 442 is fine but get Lampard out and let Gerrard play how he does at pool, why the fuck was he out on the left so much :S
I say it cos there were several times when Wayne had the ball and could have set a partner up but just was stranded and couldnt do much on his own

Fat Fat just can't quite find the trigger can he?? Saying that whenever he scores for the Chavs he never really hits it clean it usually goes in off a defenders arse or an outstretched leg. Possibly drop Lampard, Put Becks central with Lennon on the wing and Gerrard supporting Rooney? Thought he would have been better with a partner though, but who? I think it’s about time people climbed off Beckham’s back and climbed on to Lampards. Sure we have players that don’t play to the standard we know they’re capable of, but Lampard sticks out like a sore thumb. He’s had the most shots of anybody in the tournament and non have gone in and it wouldn’t surprise me if half of them AT LEAST, have missed the target. I could have slapped his fat face when he missed those golden opportunities in our last match, especially the one when Rooney set him up inside the penalty area.

"Possibly drop Lampard, Put Becks central with Lennon on the wing and Gerrard supporting Rooney?"
EXACTLY what i said to my brother before the Ecuador game, i think that would be great, though Lennon might not be able to deal whole games though when he comes on he looks great, hes exciting and has skills, with Cole on the other wing, also skillfull and has flair, it would make sense to have them bombing down the wings, so Beckham can concentrate on setting chances up etc
I think Terry and Lampard have been the worse players, why people are going at Beckham i have NO clue, hes the only reason we have got where we have for gods sake! also i agree with the chav, he said how much Beckham does and rarely gets credit for it, the problem is, Beckham at United for a few years was arguably the best in the WORLD at what he did, so now, anything less than something incredible isnt good enough for the bloody papers,
Didnt think Hargreaves did badly, though he faffed about abit and lost possession a couple of times

I rate Terry VERY VERY highly I think he is one of the best Centre Halves in the World at Present "Possibly drop Lampard, Put Becks central with Lennon on the wing and Gerrard supporting Rooney?" As good of a defender he is. You can’t deny he’s looked extremely shaky the past couple of games, especially the last game. What was that dodgy header all about, which nearly led to a goal for Ecuador? Or that ninja drop kick on one of their players, completely missing the ball, resulting in them having a free kick. You could argue the point that all players have dips in form, but its annoying when people jump the band wagon and criticise the likes of Beckham, when the likes of Lampard and Terry are performing just as bad.
And what's Joe Cole all about, one minute he’s good, the next he isn’t.

For his few dodgy decisions and a couple of dodgy tackles Id still say he's played well for us, not forgetting the goaline clearance when Rio was to afraid to put is head in where it hurts.
