Young Reds striker Giuseppe Rossi says it is "incredible" to have signed a two-year contract extension at Old Trafford. The 19-year-old highly-rated forward scored four goals in 12 appearances for the Reds last season, which this week earned him a new deal that keeps him at the club until 2010.
"It's great of course," he told MUTV. "Just staying with United for another two years is incredible. This is one of the best teams in the world and it's where all the players want to be.
"I feel blessed with the opportunity to stay. I've played two years with the reserves and we won everything, all the trophies we could. This year we want to step it up and keep winning."
The Italian youngster has been watching the World Cup with interest as the Azzurri have reached the final where they will play France. Rossi believes Italy can go all the way after their last-gasp victory in a thrilling semi-final against Germany. "It's been great,” he said. "Two goals in the last two minutes was incredible. I think they've got a good chance in the final."

Wiked young man! That's what we need at the moment, less of the "he's off to madrid, he's off to byern" ect. And more young players deligted at signing for us, and claiming we're the best club in the world.

If we're keeping Ruud do we need another forward though, I don't think so?

Ruud isn’t the player he once was. You have to admit that? He’s lost that extra yard of pace that used to get him there before the defenders, and with no wingers crossing in for him, what do we do? And to be dropped by club, then Country, it is going to have an affect. I think it’s going to be a case of Rooney and Saha up front. Yes I would have loved someone like Torres coming in, but I’m much more concerned about our midfield.

dont you think fergie and the glazers may be ready to sell ruud now though as apposed to giving him another season, after all there's the risk he will have a below par season add to that he will be a year older and he will only have one year left on his contract and your looking at a substantially lower fee for him next season, i know he pretty much guarantees you goals but maybe fergies lookin for a different approach i.e. someone with a more complete game, next season and sees now as the best time to offload him.
