Good point there aswell mate, he is there to add depth and backup, also to compete for a place to raise players games, let sjust see how he does before judging him

I know he played central defender, but Gabby didn't look that hot in the WC. Anyway we need someone to cover his suspensions.

I think he'll become our very own Ashley Cole in the next season or two, if he adapts. Was given a pretty unfair start against City I thought Evra reminds me of Ashley Cole charging up the wing, he's fast and just needs to work on the defensive side with the speed of the premiership.. he's quick to charge forward but slow to track back.

Adapt or not, we all have our first impressions of people, and aren’t they the most important? He looks shaky to me, a liability; he’s small and gets knocked on his ass easily. I’d be holding my breath every time he’s on the ball next season. One things for sure though, he certainly won’t knock Gabby off his perch, I don’t think anyway.

I think he just needed longer to adjust, i remember the first few games vidic played he looked shaky and out of his depth yet as we all saw towards the end of the season he got a run in the team and he started to show his true colours. With vidic though he had the physical and mental attributes to allow him to settle quicker where as evra, as you pointed out, is smaller and seemed to struggle, i still believe he'll come good after all a number of clubs tracked him for a while before we got him so they must have spotted something in him along with fergie so heres hoping he has a good pre-season. Although i dont think he'll necessarily take heinzes' place in the team hopefully he should offer us something different if need be, heinze for when defensive stability is needed and evra if we need a bit more adventure down the left.

He's a liabiliy in the middle, and will never perform as well for the Argies as he does for us. He's a ruthless player, and TOO ruthless for the centre (as we saw in that game when he should have been sent off). At left back, if he goes for someones legs, he can get away with it a lot more easily than if he's in the middle... as he wont be the last man, and they'll be someone to cover his ass.
