If the press hadn't blamed Ronaldo then it would have been Rooney who was blamed, the same way Becks was in 98. So who would you prefer to see take the blame?

I personally think both of them can handle it and either one would have come back stronger for it (like Becks). You saw how Ronaldo took control of the game when he was booed against France.

since rupert murdoch`s advances towards our good selves were spurned our overall public image hasnt exactly been "new" labour.
he controls the majority of the "popular" media ie tabloids , sky + other networks that the average joe public eats and drinks.this man can bring down governments with the pish his rags print and "joe" takes as honest to god gospel.
would it be just a bit too paranoid to suggest that mr sky holds a grudge?
