and will be greedy if needs be Ji-sung pledges to score more goals for Red Devils SEOUL: Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung, back home in South Korea where he is a national idol, yesterday promised to go for goals in the upcoming English Premier League season. Park, 25, scored only one goal for his club last season despite turning in some fine performances, but in an interview with Yonhap news agency said he was prepared to be selfish to boost his tally. Asked of his aim for the new season, Park said: “Of course, it is to win the league.” But he added: “Personally, my goals should be multiplying in number. Many fans want my goals and so do I. “When the chances come, I think I should be greedy to make it for myself, rather than to perform an assist-oriented play,” added Park, before he left for Britain following a four-week recess here following the World Cup tournament. In South Korea, Park has been voted the country's most popular sports player in surveys, and there is a street and a museum named after him in Suwon, a city south of Seoul. Transferred in 2005 from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven to Manchester United, he became the first South Korean player signed by an English premier league club when he signed a four-year deal. – AFP thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?file=/2006/7/24/sports/14928686&sec=sports

I'm surprised Park doesnt get more goals actually. He gets in to quite a few good positions, but doesnt often find the back of the net. However, he's got a great number of assists from last season. I'd fancy him to score a few this year though.

me too, lets hope he can do as he says and chip in with a few goals this season, maybe thats what fergies after this year, more of a team contribution instead of relying on ruud to bag the majority of goals because even if we were to get torres his record doesn't suggest he's going to be as prolific as ruud (though I think he'll score more at utd with better service), so nice to here the guys ready to step up he certainly deserves a few with the amount of running he does I think he's got some duracell rammed up his a**e.

i love park.. he has been all he has been hyped to be in my opinion... i consider him a serious option for the midfield starting roles...
also i would be just pleased if he didnt score goals as long as he contributed as he did and maybe then some...he turns the momentum in matches when he comes off the bench and when he starts he is class act.... good signing we need more like him

I agree, having players who go and go and go untill the whistle blows are better than any world class lazy player, hope his drives goes through the team and we push for one more goal whatever the result is at that ime
Never give up! Never surrender!
