From Sky Sports:
Manchester United midfielder Kieran Richardson is hoping for a profitable season, both for himself and the club.
Richardson has yet to truly establish himself as a regular in the United line-up, but was given a chance to impress on the pre-season tour to South Africa.
The England international started all three games on the trip and showed some neat touches.
He is keen to be involved prominently in Sir Alex Ferguson's plans this term and is optimistic of a successful campaign.
Richardson said: "I am looking for big things this season because I have a lot to prove to myself and to others.
"I hope I will show what I can do because United is certainly the place to be.
"I have my fingers crossed that it's going to be big season for the club and for me."

I personally think it will be his last season to show us what he's capable of, I like him and his work rate, good in the tackle and he's lightning quick.
Good luck to him for next season.

He's top notch and he has a bright future at United. You've got to say regardless of who Chelsea sign United have some top notch youngsters.

I can’t question his work rate, his determination and his passion; because he has plenty, but I don’t particularly think he’s good enough for us.

I agree, I like him but I can't say he's good enough to take over from Giggs. Squad player at best. Why did we not buy Duff? £5million, we'd have got 5 years out of him, he's been stop-start with Chelsea, but with regular playing at United he would have been class.

Yeah I don't know if Richardson will be a stand out player to replace Giggs, but while he's here and willing to give 110% he might develop into a really good player.

Richardson has always been a good player, if he can just continue to develope rather than staying still skill wise like he has over the last year or two he should be a very valuable asset for the future.

He had a CRACKING game against Charlton at the end last season, scored an amazing goal, and had another amazing shot bounce down off the cross bar. Another cracking goal in the pre season.
I think we expect so much so soon from our youngsters because we compare them to Rooney and Ronaldo. But he's only 21, and we forget that. For a 21 year old to show the signs of greatness that he has is absolutely incredible. He definately is a wait and see, but I've been impressed so far.

I'm prepared to give the lad a chance but I have to say I think he's an average player.
I really hope he matures and improves (just like I do Darren Fletcher!) but if you asked my honest opinion I don't think he's good enough.
And I agree with the person who mentioned Duff..... my only thought as to why we didn't go for him at that price is that I imagine there's no way Chelski would have sold him to us at that price, if at all.

Ok I intend to argue how and why richardson is pants:
His attitude is all wrong, he thinks he has a god given right to be the next big player in europe and he doesn't work for the team at all. Other players don't seem to rate him and if u watch when he plays the ball only ever goes to him as last resort and when no-one else is available. When he plays with giggs giggs goes out the left where he is playing all the time to overlap him which he doesn't do to Park or Ronaldo and scowls at him when he messes up, alot like RVN wit Ronaldo earlier in th campaign and look how that ended up.
He is the worlds best prospect when no-one tackles him and lets him run at them but lets be honest short of the first two rounds of the FA cup and the league cup how often are teams naive enough to defend like that against united?
Granted his shooting from distance is miles better than ronaldos and his crossing is at the moment marginally better, but these two attributes (which are ronaldo's worst) do not a world class player make, his passing, dribbling, running both on and off the ball, positioning, overlapping, vision, strength and overall team play are much much much lower, infact Richardson often saves people the bother of tackleing him by tripping over his own feet when he's on the ball. And if he doesn't get the ball and isn't feeling involved in the game rather than going and trying to get the ball he just sulks.
I don't seem him being at United much longer, at least I pray so, when he has played well for united this team its been when he's been given time and space to do as he pleases, which he also got at West Brom cos no-one expected him to go anywhere and when he did they didn't expect support, but simple man marking takes him out of the game totally, and thats not a good attribute in a player for a team who are going to be playing big games against the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelski and in europe.
Don't be fooled by his performance against Charlton, he had put in a number of poor poor poor performances for us in the games running up to that and at various points throughout the season. I was glad to see him get injured a few weeks ago (and I hate saying that about another human being who isnt Darren Fletcher).

i think with park giggs ronaldo and richardson we can truly say our wingers are grand... we shoudnt be linked with players like duff and petit because simply we should focus on the centre of midfield.
