Vidic suffers dislocated shoulder Manchester United could be without central defender Nemanja Vidic for at least a month after he dislocated a shoulder against Blackburn Rovers. Vidic, 25, was injured when he landed awkwardly on his shoulder during Saturday's match at Old Trafford.
He was stretchered off after lengthy treatment which held up the match.
"We think he will be out for four weeks so it is a blow," said boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who is already without Gary Neville and Mikael Silvestre.

Vidic has a broken collarbone and will most likely miss the rest of the season I think it is a case of attack is the best form of defence from here on in!

No I thought it would be for the full season ( i mean it is a broken collarbone) but Fergie said that he'd only be out for four to five weeks....so hopefully he'd make it for the very end of the season....

A broken collar bone should take 6-8 weeks max to heal. Think Sir Alex was a bit hopeful with four weeks though!

vidic gone is a big blow, but neville coming back against sheff utd that will be a huge boost for us, and now evra is back, so the back four will look quite good for the end of the season...and i think we can do it...i mean win it all...

Right, if we're struggling for defenders (with gaz, o'shea, vida, and now ferdinand out) to the point where cathcart is supposed be gettin a debut against sheffield utd (see manutd.com), isn't it possible to call back pique or evans or bardsley from their loans to help us out?

Well it is possible you can call them back, but one of two things would have to happen: 1. In the loan contract United would have had to put a clause that if they wanted to they could retain the player at any given time. 2. The club which has loaned the player would have to terminate the loan contact. I can't really see either happening, but I guess its not impossible, for me i'd take Pique back though i think all three are extremely talented, but Pique has been playing with Zarazoga and was recently in U-19 (I think) Cup with Spain, and did extremely well. He's also bagged a few goals to boot.

Yeah how you'd love to have them in the reserves now and I think some of them woun't like it that Cathcart could get a start for United before them.

Gary Neville's comeback has been put on hold for another week.
Neville had hoped to make his return in Tuesday's Premiership encounter with Sheffield United at Old Trafford.
However, Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Neville will not face the Blades as United look to stretch their lead over Chelsea to six points.
Neville is also doubtful for Saturday's televised encounter with Middlesbrough, although Ferguson is optimistic the long-serving England defender will be available for the first leg of United's Champions League semi-final with AC Milan on April 24.
"Gary has a slight chance for the Middlesbrough game but a good chance for the AC Milan game," he said.
Fuck.

Ahh, the recent injuries. It's definitely a blow to our defense, but so far we've hung in there, and hopefully we'll continue to. Shame Gary's return is pushed back, but thank God he'll be around for the Champs League. But the absence of Rio, Neville, O'Shea, Vidic, Silvestre.. hmm, hopefully we'll pull this one off.

Do not worry, we have shown great character all season in spite of injuries and i'm sure the rest of the squad will get the job done. It is a blow however, and we may have to play chelsea 3 times in the next few weeks
