With the new season approaching I'd like to do some football-culture research! When I compare English crowds with German, Dutch or French, I often realize that there are less kit-wearing fans in English stands. It might be because It often pisses down like hell or maybe it's really a culture-difference? Especially in Germany wearing a kit in your home stand seems to be a must! In Switzerland a lot of the fans just wear a scarf and self made sweaters with a club crest or something!
Well I even wear a kit at home when United is on the telly. But when I go to the pub, i put something on that just allows the CLUB CREST to shine because I don't like running through the city like a fucking placard!

I wear the shirt whenever United play. If I were going to a match at OT then I'd wear the shirt as well. I've met English United supporters who don't wear the shirt but instead wear the colors.

Of course I remember you’re a yank (such a horrible word) hence the cheeky wink. I was playing with you.
;D!
The Americans have trouble spelling things, center and color to name a few. He he. And we all know you secretly want to be British and live in Manchester, so you can throw rocks at Darren Fletcher. Lol.

Lol. yeah well you know how it goes with us Americans, we just have to be different so we got creative and changed a few words around. Yankee has negative connotations here as well, usually used by southerners to refer to us northerners however in NY we call the baseball team "Yanks" for short.

I wear my top regardless of weather. Thats the reason I've bought it (for matches..and playing footy, and wearing around lol). If it rains I throw it over a hoody or jumper...

Yeh, I always wear my shirt. My mates who I go with never do, but it's not something I've grown out of yet lol. I like contributing to the masses of red around the ground.

Not many shirts visible at away matches!!!
But if in my local, I always select a United top from the past to wear,
(Luckily I still fit into the tops that I bought over 15 years ago!!!!)
As a by the by, my local shows ALL United games, via Cypriot and Turkish TV - the Cyprus chanel even has english commentry.....

As I live away....I always wear the away kit. Still struggle into some of the older kit too but the beer belly will have to be reduced to deal with horizontal stripes !
