now, i know how to get to old trafford via car, and dont mind the occassional horendous traffic after matches... but this year having a season ticket, i will be going up more regularly, and my dad (who drives) is quite frankly pissed off at the traffic on theM!, M6 and at OT after matches, i once got the tram to OT from manchester piccadily, could anyone tell me if this particular line goes to stations outside of central manchester and salfird (i.e. away from OT)? cheers if you can help me

This is the plan to avoid the traffic: Park about a mile away from Old Trafford. (Near the Peter Pan Pizza (if that's what it's called) or the school which is a bit further down the long road) and then as soon as the full time whistle goes run to your car. Now, the place where you parked your car is likely to be near the front of all the deadlock traffic so therefore you have cut most of it out!

Yes S'pose but at least do it once, the excitement will build up once you get past Crewe station, and you'll then realise that you will soon be arriving in Republican state of mancunia. Sayin that though, home games are shite, why not try and get hold of london away games easier and a lot cheaper for you.
