Former Reds striker Mark Hughes says his Blackburn players will be fit and fresh ahead of the visit of United to Ewood Park on Saturday
The Reds look to resume league duties after the shock Carling Cup exit to Southend on Tuesday night.
Blackburn were knocked out of the League Cup against Chelsea in the third round, so Hughes' men had a free week, which he believes will stand them in good stead against the Reds.
That is bad news for the Reds, who, in recent seasons, have it tough enough against Rovers; Sir Alex hasn't experienced a league victory over Blackburn in three years.
Hughes is trying to stop the rot of four league matches without a win. His last Premiership win came against Wigan at the start of October.
"Towards the end of the game against Aston Villa, I thought we looked a little bit leggy after the European game on Thursday. That had an effect," he told the club's official website.
"But we are grateful for the free week to be perfectly honest, there are a lot of things from the game against Villa that we're working on this week," he added.
"Then of course we have a big game at the weekend against Manchester United so we've a lot to mull over." ----------

I'm expecting another Superman performance from Friedel as per usual and no doubt they'll try and rough us up a bit but if we put out our best eleven then our quality should show through eventually and we should win it. I'll go 3-1 united.

They're a tough physical team, and they will be very keen to get three points with their recent results... However, we should still manage a win, whether it be a convincing one or not I'm not too sure about.

too bad that guy pederson's not injured. he killed us last season. scored in both games right? (or was it two goals in one game).
but our form's good and theirs is average, plus they've got key players out. wont be an easy match(never is) but i hope we win. hope rooney and ronaldo score. they should get more goals for the way they're playing.

Blackburn always cause use a few problems, last season they beat us twice home and away, but we got the better of them in the semi-finals of the carling cup. Let's hope the team are all up for this, because with Friedel and Pedersen (who always both seem to play well against us ) both fit, we have to give it our all. I'd predict a very tough game , maybe a 1-0 to United.
As for Chelsea they're playing Watford tomorrow and not Aston Villa. They already played Villa this season twice and drew once and beat them once. So let's hope Watford can do us a favor at stamford bridge ( if that happens then i'll shave my head tomorrow night ).

Watford's a lively bunch but I don't see them having the skill to put one past Chelsea...though I'd be ecstatic if they do! I hope they come out fighting and keep chasing every ball so Chelsea won't have the time to play their boring brand of football.

We’ll have to watch Bentley too. He put a hat trick past us last season. Sky Sports say 2 nil United.

Usually hard games but i reckon we'll win and hopefully continue our excellent league performances. Have to watch out for McCarthy though, he seems to be playing well at the mo. 3-2 to us.

Every year i put that bald twat Friedel in my dream team, but i have come to realise that i am basing my opinions on the way he stops every sodding thing we throw at him, so rest easy guys this year i changed it, and i am supremely confidant of a 3=1 victory.

True that!! Last year I had bet that we'd win 2-0...this year am willing to bet the same, but i am also a little more cautious... Chelsea's slip up is very important to us, and yes we must capitalize it with all that we have! I am just a bit worried about the team that Fergie puts in...i hope he gave them a hearing that knocked their ears off after the game against Southend. Each coming game, including this one, is crucial...we CANNOT slip...and we all know that it cannot be stressed enough. Right now am basically blabbering what everyone knows. But am going full throttle for us to win this one... Blackburn always cause use a few problems, last season they beat us twice home and away, but we got the better of them in the semi-finals of the carling cup. Hahaa! make sure you donate the hair to make a wig for mourinho...he'll be tearing his head apart if Watford wins or even draws.

I'm hoping for a repeat of the bolton scenario here. That was a game i was worried about as we seem to struggle to break them down usually, but we all know what happened!! Hopefully we can start at the blistering pace we have been doing all season and get a couple of early goals, then we can control the game. 3-1 United.
