Utd reserves beat our blue friends 2-0 tonight at Hyde, Richardson scored with a good free kick but did little else to impress, Smith played the whole game looked sharper and scored a good goal, Park played the first half and looked sharp. Same on sat will do me.

Great to see Park n Smithy doing well for the reserves!
How did the younger players go in this match?
Who have been the stand-outs in the reserve team this season?

Alot of the reserves out on lone and in general doing well with alot of the kids, young lee looks good as has Barnes on the wing, both of them played some part in the game with Crewe in the league cup game.

Excellent. delighted to hear about Smith and Park. Important players for United those two. I'd love to see Smith fireing on all cylinders with a good few matches under his belt. I reckon he should score as many as Bent or Johnson, when hes fully fit and match ready.

Can't wait to have Park and Smith back. Park will come in very handy, giving us some relief when Giggsy needs a rest.

Great news.....think Smith's play is going to keep Rossi at Newcastle?

Not seen Smith's goal yet, hear it was a lob from 25-30 yards? Anyone who's seen it- how good was it?

Excellent. delighted to hear about Smith and Park. Important players for United those two. I'd love to see Smith fireing on all cylinders with a good few matches under his belt. I reckon he should score as many as Bent or Johnson, when hes fully fit and match ready. What? Smith has never been that prolific. Hes been played out of position by us and leeds. If he had been playing as an out and out striker he'd be scoring at least as many ! In the 2000-2001 season he had 11 premiership goals and 7 in Europe. This was at a time he could only just see over the top of his socks. The following years saw O'leary and latter Venables play him out of position as a right winger and he still came in with 10 goals a seson from the wing. When he came to us he only ever had a few matches as a striker before being shoved into the midfield. He had countless suspensions and niggling injuries. He's a player who gives his all to the cause. If you dont beleive me, that doesn't matter. A certain Sir Alex fergasson beleives in him, which is good enough for me ! He will be an excellent squad player for us. And with our midfield looking good and providing so many opportunities I can easily see him weighing in with his share of the goals.
