United go into this game on the back of a weeks rest and a 3-1 victory in the Manchester derby Now regardless of how West Ham have fared this season they will pick themselves up for the United game and will want to win this. Tevez has looked more and more a top player and would prove to be their major threat. United though have been very good both defensively and in attack and at home or away. Scoring thirty-eight goals and conceding nine in seventeen games makes bright reading for United fans who were concerned when prolific striker, Ruud van Nistelrooy departed. United haven't lost since Arsenal at home in the league and have gone twelve games without defeat, winning ten of those. Cristiano Ronaldo is sure to get "the Beckham treatment" from the West Ham fans, but he will look to build on his good form and alongside Rooney and Saha will form a major threat to what has looked a shakey West Ham side. I'd field the same XI as we did versus City as I expect it to be as tense and as physical, my prediction though is an away victory. Van Der Sar
Neville (c) - Ferdinand - Vidic - Heinzé
Ronaldo - Scholes - Carrick - Giggs
Rooney - Saha Prediction: 2-1 United; Saha & Scholes

A bad decision for WH in my opinion to sack and appoint a manager in the days running up to playing us. I'm confident in a win for us. Against City we laboured a little and still won 3-1. Our players will have had a nice 8 day break.
WH will still have the same squad as they've had all season. I was reading an article last week that showed how statistically speaking WH over-achieved last season, apparently the worst team for allowing shots on goal (yes, worse than Sunderland!) It went on the say how the dip in form maybe isn't as unexpected as many see it.
We are currently too good for them, our squad nearing full strength, Rooney and Ronaldo on scoring form and the midfield of Scholes and Carrick gelling more and more each match. 3-0 i'd say.

I think it was good timing to sack Pardew if they were ever going to, they aren't expected to get anything out of the game, but sometimes you get a response out of the players when they have to prove themselves to the manager in the first game so who knows Still think United will be too strong, hope they don't need a wake-up call after the week off, 3-0 United.

Matt Le Tissier:
First up, Curbishley has to work out how to beat a Manchester United side that really are flying now.
It is not a bad game to start with because the occasion itself might just bring that extra 10 per cent out of the players that was obviously lacking under Pardew.
The appointment of a new manager, whether rightly or wrongly, usually does that in itself, and West Ham don't have a bad record against United at Upton Park.
The crowd will be up for it, but the players have to be as well. They have got to get on the front foot early, because United look to be coasting at the moment.
They are ahead of Chelsea and they have enough experience in their ranks to handle that, no problem at all. If West Ham let them get in front on Sunday, I can't see any way back.
And with Cristiano Ronaldo, Louis Saha and Wayne Rooney all bang on form, they will fancy their chances of scoring whoever they are playing, never mind a side that has lost its last three.
If those three stay fit and the Henrik Larsson loan goes according to plan, I really can see them going all the way this season.
If they are going to, this is the sort of game they might have to grind out a result in, but for all the furore surrounding Curbishley's appointment, I have a feeling this might be a little easier than people think.
Le Tiss Predicts
AWAY WIN - The new manager, Upton Park packed to the rafters and everyone watching on Sky Sports 1 might be the ingredients for West Ham to roll back the years and upset United, but I just can't see it happening. They have too many key players missing and I just can't see this United side, with the confidence they have got, losing to anyone right now. I think they will get in front and stay in front and could well ease home in the end. I'll go for a 3-1 away win.
Matt's Main Man
CRISTIANO RONALDO - He has improved this season, but there is still more to come from him. I would think he'd be a little disappointed at his goal tally so far (I wouldn't be happy with six at Christmas!), but he is getting himself into good positions more this season. He is still creating chances as well and you would expect him to run at that West Ham defence whenever he gets the opportunity. ---------

Rooney - Saha I agree with that starting XI. I also agree withthe idea of sacking the manager before playing us. From Curb's point-of-view it's a no-lose scenario. I say 3-0.... Rooney, Ronaldo and Rio (header from a Giggs corner). How's that for a prediciton? I will once again be at Flanagan's at 11 AM EST for "Breakfast with the Reds" wearing my OGS home shirt. Anyone in the area come on down!

Given the recent form of both clubs the odds would be greatly in our favor, even if it is an away match. Curbishley will surely be looking to make a great first impression so we might see a more spirited West Ham side. I still think we can pull this off though, especially with a full strength side. 2-1 [glow=red,2,300]United.[/glow]

Normally I would say this could be a draw, but seeing as how West Ham aren't doing that well, I'm gonna say 3-1 United. Giggs, Rooney, and Vidic to score.

Luckily it's on cable but unfortunately it's a 3 a.m kick off here so I'm gonna be cactus the next day!
I'll go for 2-0, with Saha and Neville to score (he's got to stick one in soon, I can feel it in my water!)

Rooney - Saha Prediction: 2-1 United; Saha & Scholes I agree with the line up. With a full strength side, it'll be hard to loose. And as the manager changes they will still be under the chaos to give us a hard time. 3-0 United!

3-0 I don't think we'll just steam roll them as they have Curbs as there new manager but i still expect a victory as we are playing very well at the moment and West Ham aren't so a 3-0 would do nicely
