From Sky Sports:
Henrik Larsson will make his Manchester United debut alongside fellow Scandinavian, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, against Aston Villa.
Sir Alex Ferguson explained his reasoning behind dropping Solskjaer, but confirmed he would be restored to the team to face Villa.
"I didn't take Ole to Newcastle because he has played two games in four days," said Ferguson.
"I thought he would be better resting ready for Sunday's match.
"He will play along with Larsson."
The duo will get the chance to start in the cup tie after Louis Saha was ruled out for a fortnight with a groin injury.

I was going to put it up but thought it'd be locked again due to the amount of days until kick off, but oh well. Adam's XIKusczak
Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Ronaldo - Fletcher - Carrick - Richardson
Larsson - Solskjaer Subs: VDS, Neville, Scholes, Giggs, RooneyI'd love Larsson and Solskjaer to score because it'd give Rooney a kick up the arse that he needs, I also think he needs a rest though because he's team work and play has been as usual top notch it's just his finishing which has been poor and I'm sure with a rest and a mental kick up the arse with the arrival of Larsson, Rossi and Dong he'll be back to normal. With the indication that Ole and Henrik will start then I think he'll rest a lot of player so I've gone with that line up. Prediction: 2-0 United, Larsson to score on his debut and another from Ronaldo.

Also I really hope he doesn't play Richardson, he really drives me up the wall. Prediction: 3-0

I am really excited about Larsson starting alongside Ole...should do well. I too do not want to see Richardson and while Park didn't play all that well yesterday I still prefer him over Richardson right now. VDS will get the start I think because we can't afford to lose this match. I'm all for keeping the title race interesting but not if it means us allowing Chelsea to close the gap by dropping points in this match.

Sweetie, it's a cup match... we can't drop points, just go out I agree about park ahead of Richardson though

Lol red yank. Surely Giggsy might start this game. Park has played pretty much three full games in a row, so he might be rested.

I think SAF will play a few fringe players and give Rooney, Ferdinand and Ronaldo a rest. Unfortunately, that means playing the likes of Richardson and O'Shea Looking forward to watching the Viking duo in attack.

It would be really interesting should Fergie put either Dong or Rossi on the bench, if we're up by a few then put them on, Rossi's first OT appearance this season and Dong's first ever. That would be great for Dong reguardless of whether he makes it here or not, he's been patient at Antwerp and worked hard, if there's an opportunity it would be nice to see him.
Fletcher and Richardson in the same midfield would be a mistake for me, Villa are no mugs, Park to start, Heinze as well.

Lol I think he could well rest those three players. Hopefully there won't be any Richardson, and I think Fergie will definetly play at least one of Ronnie and Giggs. Otherwise God knows who our wingers will be. Richardson and Parky. Park I'm ok(ish) with but Richardson, please no.

Lol RY we have them at home right after the cup aswell though so it's an easy mistake to make , a good cup run would be nice so I hope we take it seriously and don't rest too many, maybe another new face by that time aswell? or maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part ;D

Yeh lol I think thats very wishful thinking. I hope we play a strong team mind, although if I had to choose between a good team in the cup game or the league game obviously I'd choose the league.

I'd like to see Dong and Rossi on the bench, it's been too long that Rossi's been in a barcode shirt.

Yeh true, but I can't see them both being on the bench. Then again with Saha injured they might be. Two very good prospects in them.

personally i dont think the starting back 5 should be changed. VDS, nev, rio, vida and evra for me. they need to start playing together again after a couple of rotations and a good few goals conceded. besides, kuzscak is recovering from flu. no richardson for me either. he's gotten too many chances to play and spurned most of them. i trust park more. even if he's not playing too well, he never stops trying. and i'm REALLY looking forward to larsson playing. been waiting for this day since they announced he was coming over.
