On paper momentum should carry Chelsea to the title....but the game is played on the pitch. Come on United! Where's our fucking pride! We can't through it all away now. We'll be back next game. I think we now must beat Chelsea at the bridge. We can do it. Keep the faith

Shit performance today especially shooting wise. Thought Richardson played rather well and deserved to be on the pitch more than Ronaldo who was a bit wank. Obviously the injury to Rio is what scuppered us. Thought the ref had an absolutely disgraceful game. Didn't like the fact Ole's goal was disallowed but apparently what he did is for some reason illegal so fair enough but why then did he have to book him? Still, should have given them a penalty so be thankful for small mercies. Thought Scholes was a little better than he has been recently and Fletch, although poor at covering for his CB's (understandably), was excellent going forwards.

A bit disappointed but I ain't deterred yet. This is the first time in a while the whole attacking quarter had a collective off day. I am dissappointed but I fancy the geordies to do us a favour tommorrow. I know what your saying, no way, but they have threat upfront and can cause chelsea problems. Keep the faith people I think the squad is doing its best with the current injury crisis. A lack of depth is not helping along with injuries to key players. Ronaldo hasn't had a breather in ages.

People keep saying Richardson shouldn't have been taken off, he too was injured!

A quick few points.
Rio Ferdinand. I know that we want our strongest XI playing at the moment, but after Rio picked up that injury against Watford, he should never have been playing today. BBC have confirmed that he is now out of the Milan first leg and COULD be back for the Chelsea game. That is a terrible blow. I was half-expecting him to be ruled out against Milan, but the possibility of him not playing against Chelsea is a real worry.
Christiano Ronaldo. Don't get me wrong, I love him, but today he really pissed me off. He reminded me of when he first arrived when he was all fancy dan tricks and no end product. As well, after the game, I hope Fergie reminded him that players are actually allowed to PASS the ball.
Boro attacking. I cannot understand how and why we allowed them to have the freedom of our half. This wasn't just for some parts of the game, it was for the majority of it. Where was the pressure? pressing? If someone watching the game didn't know who was home or away, they would be in their right to believe United were the away team.
I still do believe that if we play good enough on the day, we can achieve the treble. Without a doubt, the Premiership is the most important, but I would love to see us win the Champions League again. The only real good thing to come out of this game is Fergie has a few days to drill it into the players that we can't be complacent and we'll be ready to fight on Tuesday night.

[quote author=mufcadz board=matchday thread=1176884157 You wouldn't know our team was in the semi finals of Europe's biggest competition, final of the FA Cup and top of the league by some of these responses. They're disgraceful to be honest with you.
Yeah you say "We'll Never Die" but prior to that comment all but said we'd not win a thing.[/quote]
I guess you're talkin about me.... I never said anything about the European Cup or the FA Cup and I didn't say we lost any hope of winning the League. BUT it is looking bleak for us, at least as far as the League id concerned and for me at least, that's the most important thing this year - winning the League. You're right about the Treble season, we had a very tough run-in (Leeds, Boro, Liverpool all away) and we drew some matches and if you remember, coming in to the last week of the season we were second to Arsenal and had they not had that shocking 0-1 defeat at Leeds, they had won the Title. I don't think it's the same story here, Chelsea of today are a side with much more character than that Arsenal team and anyway, I wouldn't want us to count on them stumbling. I'm just hugely disappointed we had a six-point lead and we let them norrow it down. WE let them.

At the end of the day the players choked. Only Scholes and VDS turned up and produced. One shot on target at home against bottom half opposition in a game we knew we had to, and should win. #shakehead#
If not for the ref we should have probably lost the game. Don't think i've ever been so despondent coming away from the ground.

Disappointing result. Our injuries are costing us now. I don't understand why Rio wasn't taken off as soon as he was injured. What was Fergie playing at letting him hobble around for all that time?? Evidently, we would have been better off making the substitution there and then Looked like a BLATENT penalty for them in injury time, good ol John O'Shea. Won't be watching Match of the Day, but imagine someone can confirm that for me. Looked tired and disinterested. Don't see why Fergie took Richardson off. Why take off a player after 45 minutes who's having a good game? No good battering teams in the Cups if we can't show up in the league. Puts the pressure on us now needlessly. ALL of our first choice back 4 are now injured Jamie Carragher didn't think it was a penalty as he got his toe on the ball anyways. Another four matches to go yet, and all we need is 10 points, three wins and a draw... surely we can manage that. We really do need to strenghten and sort the squad in the summer though. We can't rely on the older players forever, the legs of Ole, Giggs and even Scholes does not have that many years left in them.

We desperately miss Vidic. We need to beat Everton and City now and pray Arsenal do us a big, big favour......

All I have to say is that Alan Green on 606 is a wanker! I listened to the phone-in after the match and he just kept on moaning about the penalty incident at the end. The guy is a cock.
The replays seemed to indicate that O'Shea got a toe on the ball before taking the man down. The Chavski supporters in the pub were up-in-arms over that!
Even my scouse mate wants Man U to win the Premiership. How times have changed.

Even my scouse mate wants Man U to win the Premiership. How times have changed. He is a bit of a prick like, but look at this from wikipedia: Again in January 2007, Green was in hot water on Merseyside over comments made on Five Live during the Everton v Reading match at Goodison Park. Film star Sylvester Stallone was paraded on the pitch, and Green quipped as to whether Stallone's limousine would still have wheels when he returned to it. This prompted an official complaint to the BBC by Liverpool City Council, outraged at his stereotypical views about the city being a hotbed of car crime. Goes up a bit in my estimation. I thought he supported Liverpool.

I think the fat Irish cunt used to be a United fan and a friend of SAF but he used his friendship with Fergie to try and extract matchday information ahead of everyone else to get a scoop (the self serving little shit). Fergie didn't take kindly to this and told him where to go so now he is always nasty about Fergie and United wherever possible. At least that's what I heard.

I'm bloody disappointed. Moaninho must be celebrating right now. But here's hoping the Toons kick their blue arses.
Hmm. I don't know if we were watching the same game, but I'm quite sure that Ronaldo didn't shoot as much! I was actually pretty shocked that he kept passing the ball to Smith, and to Carrick. And I didn't see as much tricks either. I didn't even see stepovers.
