Since AC Milan know that they'll be facing Liverpool IF they go through, they'll be determined to get to Athens and make up for what happened against the dippers in Istanbul.
The result tonight makes for a fantastic game tomorrow.
I admit that during penalty kicks tonight, I wanted Chelsea to go through. Nothing would have pleased me more than seeing us lift the title at the Bridge, beat the Chavs at Wembley AND make Mourinho stand there and applaud while we lift the European Cup. After the shit he has said about Ronaldo, that would have been perfect.
I'm looking forward to the game tomorrow. Should be fantastic night. Hopefully it is. I don't really want to predict a score, but if we play to our best, we can win again. It may be squeaky bum time again, but that's the joy of the game. Love it. Glory Glory.

It would be foolish to think we're going to the San Siro and will be guaranteed a win. We've been playing beautifully plus have shown great determination when challenged so other clubs can underestimate us at their peril. Going to the San Siro and getting a win is difficult but not impossible and remember that we already have a win and only need draw to go through so we have more options to claim victory. I have a healthy amount of respect for Milan and am not one of those who think we're going to blow them out, but would be happy if we do.

Sir Alex has faith in Rossoneri
Sir Alex Ferguson is confident that AC Milan will not look to exploit the fact that three United players are walking a suspension tightrope in Wednesday night’s Champions League semi-final showdown.
Should the Reds negotiate a route past Carlo Ancelotti’s side, Paul Scholes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gabriel Heinze would all miss the final if they are booked in the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
In last Tuesday’s semi-final, first leg and 2005’s second round double-header, however, Sir Alex saw no reason to fear tactical skulduggery from the Italians. He does, however, admit that his trio could be fearing the worst.
“I think it is a pressure on the players, it must be,” admitted Sir Alex at his pre-match press briefing. “But I hope that there’s fairness from the referee. It’s a big game for him, he’s a young referee with a good reputation and I’m hopeful that it’s done the right way.
“My biggest confidence is in AC Milan because I don’t think they’re a team who would do anything to get players booked. There’s no point to it, neither team benefits because we don’t play each other again. It can only help the opponents in the final.
“In the games I’ve seen against AC Milan, there’s no evidence of anything wrong. You only have to go back one week to see the manner and the spirit in which the game was played in Manchester. I think it was a credit to both sets of players and their professionalism. I expect the same on Wednesday.
With Milan skipper Paolo Maldini in a similarly precarious disciplinary situation, Sir Alex is confident that fair play will prevail ahead of the showpiece final in Athens in three weeks’ time.
“Maldini is also on two yellows, and I think that if Milan were to beat us, everyone would want to see Maldini in the final,” he said.
“I’ll be in Athens, no matter whether it’s with United or to see the final, and I think a tournament like the Champions League needs the best players. For me it would be fantastic to see Maldini, at the age of 39, playing in a European final.”

just thought i would post this. after gattuso's very sporting interview, it was great to hear this sort of sportsmanship coming from fergie ahead of a do or die clash between two MASSIVE teams...it makes a nice change from the snapping, biting, childish comments between benitez and mourinho in the other semi final...this is what football is all about for me...graciousness,beautiful football, skill and sportsmanship even during crunch time. this is how its supposed to be...whatever happens tonight, its gonna be a great game between two legendary teams...and i'm gonna be proud of united no matter what the result...that said...COME ON UNITED!!!!!!

It depends what formation we play and If Rio and Vida are fit.
I think we'll go 4-3-3 again as Fletcher was rested at the weekend, try to hit Milan on the counter if they come forward. If they opt not to come straight out, we'll take the game to them a little more.
United can come into this game more so in the 2nd half, as we saw at Old Trafford, Milan tire an extreme amount as the game goes on, with Maldini out we can take advantage of that.
2-1 United if Rio and Vida start
2-2 draw if Rio and Vida aren't involved

Im nervous now yet excited. We have got to get through and destroy the scousers in the final. That would be sweet.
The last 2 games in Europe, I have been at home watching the game with some bottles of beer, opening them with my Man Utd bottle opener. Tonight im going to the pub to watch it and im superstitious now. Im tempted to take the bottle opener with me and ill open the bottles instead, but I don't want to look like a dick by taking it. What do I do??

So long as we are prepared to put in the hard work which I fully expect us to do, we'll out-leg Milan - in their own back yard or no. We can score there without a doubt because we have the ammunition to hurt them and the Italians know it. Have been reading SAF's warm comments about how Milan are very worthy opponents that will not seek to exploit our 3 yellow-carders. Wish I had his belief is all I'm saying there!! As for the outcome...... As Joseph sang "Any draw will do"! ;D

The last few games all I have said about whichever game it has been is WIN, dont care how...
I was hoping to have changed my outlook but I'm afraid not. I have to be honest and say I have cared more about the ECL as the weeks have passed, Liverpool cannot be allowed victory in the final, we would never be allowed to forget it so that means we need to be in the final. If we lose AC Milan are an okay bet against them so that's okay, revenge for Istanbul and all that but Liverpool are so bloody lucky in Europe and they will no doubt have 'the ghost of Bill Shankly' with them.
Our game will be incredibly difficult and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to realise this. We are not there yet, we shouldn't even presume we are close.
Whatever gets U (nited) thru the night, it's alright!
