Hopefully the fact that about 9 of the 11 starting players are new and foreign will be an advantage to us as they don't know about the City Utd derby and how it can be different from any normal game, plus is Sven the type of manager to really gear the players up for proper derby game?

When was the last time we actually played a derby from below them in the table?

I think we should really go for it, and I havent been happy with brown so my team would be --------------------------VDS------------------------ --Simpson---Rio-----------Vidic---Evra------- Nani------Scholes-------Hargreaves--Giggs ----------------------Anderson--------------------- -------------------------Tevez-----------------------
Subs Cambell, Carrick, Eagles, Piquet, Tommy K
Good luck boys

Sven is the reason why Englands defence was so solid. So in other words i think he is more than capable of organizing his team to defend against us for 90 minutes. In their last two games thay have kept two clean sheets.

Really tight game but we should grind out a 1-0. We haven't been playing too badly and just need a break in front of goal. A must win game already in the season. I guess this is why we follow Utd. It's never dull is it? C'mon boys!!!!

In their last two games thay have kept two clean sheets. Very true - good comms - only thing is that he never really got England scoring goals - apart from the 5-1 - lol! It could well be another frustrating day! Now is Tevez time - lets see if he can light it up... As Matkaman says 'its a must win game' - I just hope that we at last show that killer instinct - AND FUCKING BURY THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will be a tense and gritty affair. United need to be focused and calm in such a situation. These derby games a real feisty tie and we need to keep a cool head plus a killer instinct to get a must-needed win. Citeh have had a great start and we must bury them in their own home. This is where Tevez will be tested.
I am more or less content with mufcpaul's lineup. It will be interesting to see Anderson get a competitive debut in such a tight affair and I hope Hargreaves keeps things tidy at the back. But we must score to win and for that I hope the lads deliver.

I agree with Supatrice in that Nani should not start this derby. I dont think he is ready for it. This will be a nice aggresive derby and both teams will be anxious to get a good result here. We're much more desperate for a win so I expect us to win this one.
VDS Brown Vidic Ferdinand Evra Fletcher Carrick Hargreaves Giggs Scholes Tevez
Id like to see Anderson on the bench in case we need him as I think he will adjust to the EPL quicker than Nani will.

Thats pretty much the team I'd expect to see as well. There is no way Fergie will play Anderson and Nani in this game from the start. But is there any chance that Hargreaves will be fit. According to the BBC's website neither Hargreaves or Anderson will be even in the matchday squad.

I have confidence in us not conceding in this game, as our back four are soo good. I have confidence in us creating chances but we just need to put the ball in the net. In the last 2 games we've had OVER 40 SHOTS AND SCORED JUST 1 GOAL, which shows how much were misssing saha and ole. But i think if we can just get 1 goal then that should be enough to win this game.

To say the truth if we lose this ( hope we don't ) then we won't be disappointed like we've been for our last two matches. I think if by a miracle we lose this match or maybe even draw then those Glory hunters will bugger off and so will those quiet ones who come to old trafford, which leaves the real fans like us! Expectations will be dropped and we will accept everything thrown at us by backing our team week in week out. Then BANG! Everyone back from injury and Manchester United are back online come Christmas. Chelsea lose some points due to players Fucking off to the Africa Nations cup and we make up the deficit. And we show our true talent and potential like in the Glory year 1999.
Anyone that's the dream i had yesterday. lol.
This is my team: VDS O'shea Ferdinand vidic Evra Fletcher Carrick
Giggs Scholes Nani Tevez.
Subs: Thomas Brown Eagles. Hargreaves Pique.
Chelsea to draw with the pool and United to win by a small margin like 3-0. I'm being very very very optimistic.

Oshea in for Brown? After Vidic, Brown was our best defender against Pompey!
