I think this will go the way most of our matches have gone this season and we'll win 1-0, and I'll gladly take it. It's very important we don't let them get an away goal because going back to Roma and needing to win isn't a good proposition.

Away goals don't play that big a part. Also we could afford to lose ( I'm not saying we should by all means ) and still go away to Roma not needing a win to qualify for the next round.

I am a tad worried about this game.
Over the last year, when Roma have been on their game they may well have been the best team in Europe. They're so interesting as they don't play w/ a proper CF, but their midfield runners cause a lot of trouble. This mobility may well cause players such as Vida problems, he and Rio will have to work out if and when to follow Totti and which runners to pick up. This is very different to defending against the teams we have done so this season.
Furthermore, Roma will want some revenge, have improved from last season and prior to the Inter game (in which they were down to 10 for about an hour)I believe they were top of Italy.
If both teams open up, this could be an incredible game.

ROMA superstar Francesco Totti has sent a blunt message to Alex Ferguson: “I’m coming to get revenge.”
The former Italy idol is desperate to get even for the worst defeat of his career — in last season’s Champions League quarter-finals when Manchester United tore apart Roma 7-1.
Totti, 31, revealed that since the two teams were paired in the same group the Italians have been thinking of their return to the Theatre of Dreams. He said: “We want a great and beautiful revenge. We have all been thinking of the game after what happened last year at Old Trafford. It was a complete disaster.”
Totti admitted Roma’s capitulation at Old Trafford took him a long time to get over.
He admitted the cocksure Italians were complacent after dominating the first leg when United were lucky to escape with a 2-1 defeat.
Yet Roma were so thoroughly outclassed by Fergie’s side in the return leg they were fortunate to go back to Italy without a double-figure scoreline against them.
United wasted scores of chances to make the win even bigger. Totti added: “I felt gutted and depressed.
"Losing in the way we did was hard to take. We were convinced we would go through to the semi-finals.” This time around Totti reckons it will be a different story as Roma will be at Old Trafford as one of the favourites to win the Champions League.
He insisted: “Now Roma is a cynical team, a very competitive one, a very strong side that could go all the way. We are among the favourites and rightly so.”
Roma’s new Brazilian star Cicinho confirmed last season’s result was still having a major effect on the Italian side.
Defender Cicinho — who joined from Real Madrid — said: “Obviously, the name Manchester United chokes in everyone’s throat here.
“Roma should have beaten United by a large margin in the first leg but paid for it by having the worst night possible in the second leg.”
Despite their strong start to the season Roma come to Manchester after a 4-1 mauling by Serie A champions Inter.
Though they played with 10 men for most of the game Roma showed the defensive weaknesses they had last year. But that result was dismissed by midfielder Simone Perotta.
He said: “Of course we’re not afraid of United. We have a very strong side.
“This is a new year, we know what to expect and we have to show we are capable of competing. The result against Inter was a bad one but we were a man down so it was difficult.
“We are going to Manchester and I am certain we will play with the confidence of the great team we are.
“Of course we know what we have to do different and we have to be fully concentrated as United have great players.”

Defenders Wes Brown and Nemanja Vidic were the notable absentees from training as Manchester United completed their preparations for tomorrow's Champions League clash with Roma at Old Trafford.
The pair picked up knocks during Saturday's Premier League win at Birmingham and while there was no guidance from United as to whether their participation against the Italians was in doubt, it would be a major surprise if either missed out.
Owen Hargreaves was training, leaving the former Bayern Munich star in line to make his European debut for the Red Devils.
Edwin van der Sar (toe) is definitely ruled out, so Tomasz Kuczszak will deputise.
Roma have received good news ahead of Tuesday's Champions League clash at United with midfielder Simone Perrotta available to play.
World Cup winner Perrotta injured his thigh during Saturday's 4-1 league defeat to Inter Milan.
The Ashton-Under-Lyne-born player has been included in Luciano Spalletti's squad for their Group F encounter at Old Trafford.
"I really want to play," said Perrotta. "I felt a pain in my thigh but I will undergo further tests and I hope to be available to play."
Perrotta was not in the team that lost 7-1 to United at Old Trafford five months ago, in what was the most humiliating defeat for the Romans in European competition.
Back then, Roma travelled to England with their morale sky high but this time, they will have reason to be wary.
Saturday's emphatic defeat, their first slip-up of the campaign, relegated Roma to fourth in the Italian standings - three points behind leaders Inter.
Roma coach Luciano Spalletti does not want his players to dwell on the defeat as they seek their second ever triumph in English soil after eight failed attempts.
"We must forget our defeat to Inter and bounce back straight away," he said. "We are jumping into a completely different reality on Tuesday and we must be strong mentally."
Cicinho looks set to return to the starting XI to replace injured defender Christian Panucci.
The Romans will be without injured Brazilian midfielder Rodrigo Taddei.

Good point, got a bit ahead of myself there...lol. I'd like us to win the group though and beating Roma at home and putting some distance between us and them will be a big boost for the team.

I think 2:0 sounds realistic and quite nice indeed :-) I'm thinking, maybe with Ronnie and Tevez scoring. But I seriously hope Nemanja and Wes will play.. Geez, they have to! We'll definitely need them tomorrow, if we don't want Totti to go crazy on the pitch. But, hey, that won't happen anyway #eyebrows#

Your Flags can be placed along the tiers of the stands, except the Stretford End which will have the Stretford End Banners in place, or can be hung on the metal fences at the front of the stands or over the green mesh on the front few rows. From MEN
CRISTIANO Ronaldo has warned that Manchester United are ready to go goal crazy.
Champions League opponents Roma know only too well what the Reds and their Portuguese winger can achieve when they get going.
The Italians, back at Old Trafford tomorrow, were savaged 7-1 in April in the quarter-finals.
United had been stung by back-to-back defeats in Rome in the first leg and at Portsmouth prior to that demolition job.
And Ronaldo had been struggling to break his European duck for the Reds after 27 Champions League appearances.
The 22-year-old ended that barren spell with two goals in the sensational victory - part of a 23-goal haul for ther season.
Now Roma return to the scene of their humiliation with United struggling to find goals, if not victories.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, added to his winner against old club Sporting Lisbon in the Group F opener a fortnight ago in Portugal, with another against Birmingham at St Andrews on Saturday.
"My form is coming back. I am working hard in training and the goals are coming now," he said.
"I don't think too much about it but scoring goals is important for me and the team. I have worked hard for that.
"In football the most important thing is to win and get three points. Our best football will come soon for the team and the players.
"We are not fantastic at the moment but we have fantastic players and fantastic staff and the best is coming."
Owen Hargreaves could be back for the game.
The England midfielder has been training well at Carrington after the thigh injury he picked up in training during the Euro 2008 qualifiers forced him out of the Reds last five matches.
The 26-year-old Champions League winner with Bayern Munich was bought during the summer with the competition in mind and he could be thrown straight back into the fray for his Reds Euro debut.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed serious injury concerns ahead of Tuesday's UEFA Champions League meeting with Roma.
Ferguson is sweating on the fitness of Owen Hargreaves, Nemanja Vidic and Wes Brown as the Old Trafford boss looks to make it two wins from two in Europe this season.
Hargreaves has been sidelined over recent weeks with a groin problem sustained on England duty, but Ferguson has revealed the midfielder trained with the United squad on Monday in the build-up to the Roma match and could play.
"Hargreaves has trained this morning with the team and it's a possibility tomorrow," Ferguson told Sky Sports News.
"I would like him to have had some more football to be honest because European football is a different level of speed and tactics. But we'll see tomorrow."
Precaution
Ferguson, who is already definitely without goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar who sustained a toe injury in the 1-0 win over Birmingham on Saturday, has also admitted he has concerns about Vidic and Brown.
The defensive duo missed training on Monday, but it was thought to be only a precautionary measure after the pair picked up knocks against the Blues.
However, Ferguson says there is a chance both players could be missing against Roma.
"Vidic is a doubt and Wes Brown is a doubt," Ferguson added.
"Both players picked up knocks on Saturday and really we are going to have to wait on them because they missed the training this morning and you don't want players missing training the day before a game.
"That would be a bit difficult for us, obviously (Gerard) Pique would come in for Vidic and for Wes, but we will see tomorrow."

Not sounding good injury wise is it. Im sure Vidic will make it. He could play with a broken leg if they let him.................... and if he wants it, they will fucking let him or he's murdering.
Vidic reminds me of Marv from Sin City, only harder with a better fashion sense.

ugh...I was hoping we'd have a full strength side, and with the way Roma play we need our best defenders out there.
