vs Barclays Premier League Old Trafford Saturday 8th of December 2007 KO - 15:00 GMT My expected team: VDS Brown - Rio - Vida - Evra
Ronaldo - Anderson - Carrick - Nani
Tevez - Rooney It's been a while where haven't truly annihilated a Premiership opposition, derby are the perfect candidates for that. I'm expecting a good performance, with loads of goals to fire us up before the Liverpool game. If all goes to plan, I'd say we'd win 6-0: Ronaldo Hattrick, Anderson, Rooney and Teveth.

Yeh I reckon we could stick a lot of goals past Derby. Although I reckon Fergie might make a lot of changes. Maybe Saha in for Tevez, Nani in for Giggs, maybe O'Shea in for Evra.

I'd say Fergie will play pretty much our strongest side against Derby, especially as most of them will be having a rest against Roma.

I dont think that we should bother resting players for this one. We should put a strong side out there, and just belt them plain and simply. Thrashing teams builds up our confidence, and gives us a degree of scariness from the point of the opposition. Liverpool did it, Arsenal did it, heck even bloody West Ham did it, we should be able to, and do it better, too. Would <3 it if Anderson got his first for the club. After all the hard work and great performance's he has had i think he deserves it quite a bit. Would also love to see Rooney get a bag, just coz i love him and have missed him this last month

We need to absolutely batter Derby. We've got great confidence and morale in the camp as it is, but it's a great chance to get the goals, so if we do level with whoever, then we have a chance of having a better goal difference. Arsenal are winning now, but if they lose and lose their next game and we win ours, then, well, you see what I mean!
Plus a bit of fear. If we batter them, teams will get even more intimidated by us. Or not.

I do think we should field our first team because we need to make our mark early and get the win so we'll be mentally psyched for the Liverpool match. Oh and nice work on providing the logos to the match day thread, it's a great touch Manc Fever. #thumb#

As everyone else has said: play the strongest side and score as many goals as possible. Derby really are a poor side so there should be no excuses.

I agree with you guys. We should boost up our morale to higher levels. Try to annihilate Derby A.S.A.P. and get the biggest margin possible. I drool if we managed to get 10 goals past Derby.

Pessimists. 23-0.
The King to open the scoring in the first 2 minutes and score another 2 thereafter.
Ronny to get his hat trick at last.
Wazza to blast home 4.
Bestie to embarrass their keeper and bag a couple himself.
Giggsy to work his magic and scare them apart with his chest hair.
Charlton another 3.
Scholes to cut them apart like the ginger ninja that he is.
Hughes Stiles and Meredith 2 each.
Ole to sub on and score another cracker.
Steve Bruce to make half their players part of the pitch.
Schmeichel to head one home in the final minutes.
Edit: All goals other than Schmeichel's being scored from a perfectly placed Giggs corner will be scored in individual displays of brilliance and etched into the minds of Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea fans as we trounce everybody for the rest of the season in similar fashion.

I recon we should rest a few players like Giggs, Ronny, Tevez and Evra. Even with a weaker team we should be able to win comfortably but still we shouldn’t take Derby so lightly and expect a 4-0+ win as anything can happen in football, just look when we played Sunderland and they got a 0-0 draw with us despite being arguably the worst Premiership team ever that season. p.s 5-0

I really do hope we can play a strong team this match, depending on how Evra's flu is though half a game might be enough for him. Saha needs to get match fit and start finding the net again, as it stands we only have two strikers to rely on, and I'm actually quite surprised that Saha aint one of them because usually he recovers from his spells on the sidelines quite well. Be a good match for Rooney to bag a few too, he looked a bit frustrated he couldn't against Fulham.
If the dippers can do it, why can't we? (Unless they fixed that match as well... )

Start Saha, get him scoring again. Van Der Sar
Simpson - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Ronaldo - Anderson - Hargreaves - Nani
Rooney - Saha Prediction: 4-0 Saha, Ronaldo (2) & Rooney My missus' family support Derby County so I'm taking her to this game and her uncles are going to be in the away stand. So should be a laugh on the way back. I've converted her, you'd be pleased to know. ;D
