Van Der Sar
Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - O'Shea
Ronaldo - Scholes - Hargreaves - Anderson
Tevez - Giggs
Subs: Kuszczak, Simpson, Carrick, Nani, Park
Citeh haven't exactly been setting the Premiership on fire of late; they have certainly relied on their home form. However, they will be a threat; therefore we need to put out a strong team.
No Rooney or Evra for this game; which is a concern as it leaves us light up front and on the left. It would be nice to have Saha available, but I assume he's still on (under) the physio's table.
I think Anderson and Hargreaves should start the game, they've not played too many games recently and deserve an opportunity.
Prediction: 3-1 United. Ronaldo, Tevez & Anderson

This is going to be a very special game, I’m glad I’m going and will be a part of it. Hopefully the atmosphere should be great. Elano missing for them is big blow for them. With any luck the significance of the game etc won't have a bad effect on our players, hopefully the opposite and the memory of Munich will spur them on to beat City convincingly.
I would like to see:
----------------------------------VDS
Brown---------------Rio-------------Vidic---------------O'Shea
------------------------------Hargreaves
--------------------Anderson----------------Scholes
Ronaldo------------------------------------------------------------Giggs
-----------------------------------Tevez
Hargreaves protecting the back four, Scholes as the playmaker spreading balls around the pitch, Anderson acting as a box to box midfielder and Ronny, Giggs and Rooney all interchanging and causing problems for their defence.
Hopefully we'll get revenge from our defeat at the council house.
4-0 with a Busby Babes like feast of attacking football.

I'd go with DJB's team with the obvious exception of the banned Rooney. I think he may play Ronaldo up front again with Park or Nani covering his usual wide berth. I've got half an inkling that Welbeck may have a place on the bench as well, which would be nice. Not to sure about predicting a score for this though. If the players aren't overwhelmed by the occasion then we could dish out a beating but either way i'm going for a victory.

Contrary to my earlier post, I can see us playing a 4-1-2-3 formation against Citeh.
Van Der Sar
Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - O'Shea
Hargreaves
Scholes - Anderson
Ronaldo - Tevez - Giggs/Nani
The starting 11 will largely depend upon their exploits during the week; I don't refer to Anderson's and Nani's 6-in-a-bed romps either!
It would be nice to see Wellbeck get some 1st team action; especially as Saha is doing an Ironside - no use of legs!! (Sorry to anyone with a shortage of limbs).

Seems like a sound formation with the exception of Rooney of course due to the suspension. Anderson and Scholes with Hargreaves covering will give us a great attacking options which should help us stuff the massive.

My bet is 3-1 to United, a tight attacking game, where we just edge out at 2-1 late on and City become vulnerable from there attacking for Ronaldo to Get the third goal a la Reading!!!
Tevez, Anderson and Ronaldo to score, Petrov for them!
VDS
Brown Ferdinand Vidic O'Shea
Park.........Anderson......Carrick........Giggs
...................Tevez.........Ronaldo

Van Der Sar
Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Nani - Anderson - Scholes - Giggs
Ronaldo
Tevez Prediction: 3-0 Ronaldo, Scholes and Giggs Can't wait for this game, a proper chance for myself to be involved in the Munich Air Disaster remembrance as I couldn't travel to Manchester yesterday. Hopefully, the City fans don't ruin it but after the minute's silence it must be business as usual for the players and hopefully they don't get caught up in the emotions. I fancy us for a win, I'd love Giggs and Scholes to score. Two of 'Fergie's Fledglings' in remembrance of 'Busby's Babes'.

I think he'll go for experience, it'll be a big day with the commemorations, and they'll know what it means :
VDS Brown___Rio___Vida___Evra
Ronaldo___Scholes__Hargreaves__Park
Giggs Tevez

This is how it feels to be City, this is how it feels to be small, this is how it feels when your team wins nothing at all, nothing at all, nothing at all, nothing at all...etc

Nani, Anderson and Hargreaves should play. And as potent as Ronaldo has been recently, I think he is more effective playing on the wing. But yeah, Saha is injured and Rooney is suspended. Maybe Welbeck or Dong will make the bench. Let's just put Ronaldo in front.

I agree with most of the formations on here Fergie should give ronaldo a free pass to attack citeh, I wouldn't mind seeing welbeck make a subs appearance, its going to be a really emotional night and hopefully it drives the players to work harder and play like the babes. 3-0

Van Der Sar
Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - Evra
Nani - Anderson - Scholes - Giggs
Ronaldo
Tevez Prediction: 3-0 Ronaldo, Scholes and Giggs #thumb# That's what i'd go for. Maybe we could start with Park, coz he works so hard and we'll need that with no Rooney. I'll go for a 1.0 I think there'll be a lot of pressure on us to win and win in style because of the babes tribute and I think it'll end up being a really tight scrappy game. Giggs to score in the 74th with a back healed shot from a cross with his left boot.
