Ive applied for every game this season and ive only had tickets for boro, im pretty much frustrated with the ticket situation. As i live in wales i wanted to go up on a match day, with no tickets and just hover around the ground, maybe in a couple of pubs and enjoy the atmosphere. I was wondering if anyone living far away from the ground, e.g. wales, london etc. did this regular?? if so then how would you travel there?? since ive passed my test and i now have a car i drove up to the last game, but i find this a bit expensive, so im looking for a cheaper way of going up? any suggestions??

Isn't it possible just to find someone outside the grounds and buy a ticket? I don't know how it works in England, but for example when I want to go to a sold-out Ottawa Senators hockey game, I just wait outside the arena and the scalpers find me. If it's a few minutes after the start of the game, the prices usually drop.

I've heard that Viagogo is quite good too. As for travel i would guess at the train being the cheapest way?

If you try hard enough you will always be able to find tickets from a tout outside of the East Stand.

good luck mate. once you get there i'm sure you'll find a good time whether you're inside or out. the pub right outside the grounds is solid too

It's dead cheap to book train tickets in advance, with a railcard you can get them from £10 each way from Cardiff or Newport to Manchester, £6.60 with a railcard. You could always go up when we're playing away, the pubs will be full of United fans during the match.

I missed out on the ballot for the cup game with Arsenal and then the CL game with Lyon despite only missing one game prior to that at home.
Luckily, Viagogo had single tickets available on there so now me and my old man can go. It'll be unusual sitting apart. He's in Stretford End Tier 1 and me in Tier 2...so not too far apart, I suppose.
