We paid for all those missed chances.
I started to laugh when TK was red-carded and I cried and laughed for the rest of the match. It was just too bizarre. Poor Rio. We needed O'Shea in goal!!!!

I'm angry and bemused after that. We showed no composure in the last third and i'm becoming increasingly concerned when either Tevez or Rooney are in one-on-one situations that they will cock it up. Guilty of over-playing and not taking responsibility to shoot. The ref made two poor decisions that helped them- not giving a penalty in the first half and then sending our keeper off when there was two players behind him. Pompey rode their luck in that 10 minute spell after the substitutions; substitutions that should have taken place at half time and not with 20 mins left (weren't looking at your watch there were you Fergie). Somehow Scholes managed to play the entire game despite being a passenger. Carrick or Anderson should have come on at half time for Scholes.
Kick up the arse for the league and Europe.

On the verge of tears here. I don't know about the rest of you, but the Cup means so much to me. We should have won. All those chances. Instead, a defensive lapse costs us the game. I can't help but feel that that might have not happened had Hargreaves still been on the pitch. It's our own fault. We cant go blaming the ref for the should-have-been-a-PK early in the first half, because we had tonnes of chances to put it right. I just can't believe it. I hate Milan Baros The defence was great the whole game, except that one time. Other positives were Carrick when he came on. I think Wazza shudda gone off, not Tevez. Horrible kick-off to my weekend

Quite what Anderson and Rooney were both doing challenging for that ball i'll never know. They may not be defenders but surely they're intelligent enough to not leave a player on his own just outside the area. Pompey were immense in defence though so fair play to them for that, it was just one of those days where if there'd been 500 mins of injury time we still wouldn't have scored. As for Saha, well i've stopped thinking of him as a Man Utd player now, good as he is when he's fit, that's a bit like saying Hitler was ok when he was asleep!!

I don't quite know what to say. I mean, hopefully that will be a wakeup call for the whole squad( Tevez and Rooney in particular) that we MUST take our chances! Seriously, it's not good enough just dominating a game like we did today if we can't score easy goals!!!! I am still shocked about what the ref was playing at. But it's over now, and if we could have finished it off it would not have mattered what the ref was up to. On the bright side, this will give us more energy in the hunt for the two most important trophies. Just a shame any ideas about a treble have been destroyed...

Another game that proves we need Huntelaar. Scholes was poor and Rooney and Tevez didn't have the best of games. I'm now sure that our starting midfielders should be Anderson and Carrick, maybe Hargreaves in Europe. Giggs should be ahead of Nani who isn't ready yet to play every week.

twilight zone... dododododododododo
Wasnt our day. Saha should be playing out the rest of his career at city by now and wes brown for me showed today that his hearts not with the club anymore. Everybody played well but the ball just wouldnt go in.
We'll take the league and champions league double though.

This is the end of Saha as a United player. He will be offloaded this season.
