You do have a lot of faith in Scholes, devilforlife. He's the best Midfielder in the team and on form the best player we have.

We should tank Derby regardless of the team SAF puts out. We have an important game against the dippers coming up next week; therefore we should make sure our key players are fit for that one.
I would play Foster, Simpson, O'Shea, Park, and Fletcher against Derby.
Then again, the team that played against Pompey have something to prove; their ability to score!
Rooney seems to be getting very frustrated; therefore someone should find/rent/buy him another granny to give him 'stress relief'.

I think Scholes looked very tired in the Portsmouth game, so I personally would go for Fletcher and Carrick for this one. Giggsy back into starting eleven if fit, otherwise Nani.

I expect nothing less than an angry, merciless performance by the side that lost to Portsmouth The more we score, the better.

My team : GK - Foster/ VDS (Not sure about his injury? anyone know?) RB - Wes Brown CB - Vidic CB - Rio LB - Evra/Sheasy maybe? RM - Ronaldo CM - Scholes CM - Hargreaves LM - Nani or Giggs, depending on Giggs's injury! ST - Wazza ST - Tevez maybe Carrick instead of Hargreaves? Im sure John Oshea will play some part in this game!

gapi wow.. welback eh? thats a bold move lol I agree with the unanimous Foster vote.. and speaking of gk's... anyone heard anything on VDS? its killing me here. I think we should try to rest who we can for this match, but no game is a gimme at this point (even derby.. though 6-1 chelsea today was brutal) just want to get through this and get edwin back!

I concur with tomo. Scholesy about 5 yards off the pace against Pompey, looked undoubtedly off colour. Would give Carrick and Fletcher a game, maybe give Saha (if he's fit, for once) a start. I think Nev might make an appearence aswell. I don't want to go adjusting the back four too much, keep the fluency at the back if possible. Foster
Wes--Rio--Vidic--Evra
Ronaldo--Fletcher--Carrick--Park/Giggs
Rooney--Saha

gapi wow.. welback eh? thats a bold move lol Yeah but it's Derby and either Tevez or Rooney needs a rest sooner or later. Maybe Scholes in midfield with Hargreaves who didn't play against Lyon.

I'd like to see Fergie play a proper striker and maybe give Wellbeck a run.

If they can't give him a tryout against Derby then you'd have to question just when they are going to give him a go. So long as we don't weaken the team ridiculously then it's worth a couple of experiments.
