If your referring to the price tag their club president keeps putting on him i think you'll find he's dealing in euros which takes a good 5-7 million off him. Still expensive of course, i will refer to a quote from David Gill, 'This summer we will sign One world class player, maybe 2.' (rough quote from my memory) Is Diarra really world class?.. and how much money would you expect to pay for a world class player, we're talking at least over 20 million. If he's suggesting we might get 2 world class players, does that push the budget up further?.. Maybe he's talking about a certain World Class German midfielder who's contract is up ...

Maybe, but Ballack was smart with his contract, he's a good age, and he's free... so if your gonna save so much money on a transfer fee he will be demanding huge wages, which i don't think Fergie would be best pleased with.

Diarra's best game for Lyon was a while ago against AC Milan away in the Champions League, he scored with a header, although Milan were fortunate to win.
He was pretty impressive in that game, his distribution and reading of the game was top notch. What impressed me was his goal as he put his head in amongst flying boots to score( the type of goal Bryan Robson used to score in his United heyday)
Acccording to manutd.com we're the favourites to sign Diarra after Real Madrid said they're not buying him.
