Internazionale’s Cambiasso.
From the MEN:
Alex Ferguson has had another name added to his World Cup watch - Argentina's Esteban Cambiasso. The Inter Milan midfielder's name has emerged as part of a potential swap plus cash that would send Ruud van Nistelrooy to the San Siro.
The Serie A club are understood to be keen on taking United's out-of-favour Dutch striker to Italy but haven't enough cash to afford a probable asking fee of around £12m.
Inter owner Massimo Morati is reluctant to let Cambiasso go and was initially believed to have rejected the idea but if United insist that it is the only way a deal couild be brokered then the Italians may well relent.
Cambiasso helped Real Madrid to the La Liga title and the Intercontinental Cup before moving to Inter on a free in 2004 when his contract ran out.

Adds to the rumour list of around 20 other midfielders The only person you can garuntee Fergie is interested in is Diarra as he went to watch him.

Not sure about Cambiasso apart from when he played for Madrid, don't rate Diarra AT ALL

Really not sure about Diarra either, didn't hear much of him before last year and not seen enough of him to judge... Especially for the prices being mentioned, is he really a world class signing after one good season?
Cambiasso on the other hand, helped madrid to a few titles, very experienced at the top level and is just 25 nearly 26. Anyone seen enough of him to judge?

No thanks. There's no doubting he is a good player and had a very good career so far but there a lot of def-mid out there that are better than him. I'd prefer Diarra or even, Carrick above him.
