I dont really want this to turn into another who we want thread but i understand names will need to be recommended but i want people to dicuss more the type of player(s) that we need to steady the midfield.
its easy to see that our midfield has went from strongest in world to near worst in world. throw names of players if need be but i believe we need TWO world class centre midfielders as many have pointed out on these forums one attacking and one all rounder box to box player high energy levels and great tackler comfortable on ball able to dictate the game from middle of park.

We need a good defensive midfielder someone who can start play in a similar vain to Makelele or Pirlo but yet but good at tackling and actual defending.
We should also pick up a good young promising attacking midfielder to play as second fiddle to Scholesy this year and gain some experience rather than throwing together a new midfield pairing who have never played together before to chase the premiership.
We could also do with a striker who is good with his nap and can make good runs, cos both Rooney, Rossi and Saha are at good with their backs to goal so we need a different kind of striker to mix it up a little.

Rudd could stay, and if he doesnt, Torres would be good
