Mascherano or Diarra for the holding midfielder spot, unsure about Sneijder though because I haven't seen enough of him.

Same as above really, i've not seen much of any of them just the hype and rumours. Either mascherano or Diarra with an AM player would suit us nicely.

Riquelmé and Back-Up shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence.

What puzzles me if we are after Diarra is this, Fergie has said he knew the midfield player he wanted but he wasn't available in Jan. That of course could have been Diarra, however we know that tapping up is done all the time and United would have spoken to his agent about a move to united. Now then why did Diarra sign an extention to his contract if he was considering a move? Knowing he would probably lose out financially since Lyon would be in a better negotiating position and if United paid over the odds for him it wouldn't be good for wages negotiation.

Because Manchester United do not tap up players, blaspheming like that is why Jaap Stam got kicked out ;D

Mascherano IS a very good player. Wes Sneijder lacks the pace i believe to fit in with United's system of play. He's a good player.. But vastly overrated. I believe Rafael Van Der Vaart to be much better myself..

Mascherano is a true defensive midfielder.I believe that he is much better than diarra because he is a very good tackler but his best quality is to playmake from the back

i dont think we will get 2 central midfielders as SAF has already hinted at scholes staying in the starting XI. so i think we will get riquelme or mascherano as SAF is watching the argentinian team during the world cup

Saw sneijder for holland. pretty tidy player, but awesome at freekicks. Could kick van der vaart out of dutch side.

My worry would be if he can translate a high work rate in the pedestrian Argentine league to one in the Premiership. Wesley Snijder is a fucking midget. Good at free-kicks though, but a short-arse and not the strongest I've seen.
