Looking forward to seeing him in the England team tomorrow. Assuming that the team line up is as reported. Carrick has premiership experiance, he's young plenty of energy and a bright future. I am posative he would shine at united. The cost, its a lot of dosh but Kean cost ( for the day ) and the same shite was spouted about him. However, we need more than him. Is it correct that Fergie has 45million to play with? Will we sign Torres and sell Rudd ? Will Requelme be the answer and at what cost ? Thank god all the talk of Barton has dissolved ! What about Lennon ( spurs not celtic ), Ronaldo coming infield....? I'd like to see more Brits. lets not end up like Wengers foreign legion or Bennitez Spanish mob.

What do you have to do to lose the zero rating on reputation ? Nice to be a schoolboy again. I'm off to the bike sheds...........

big teams in italy have been relegated for less before... True enough but can you honestly see the Italian FA relegating 4 of their top teams in 1 fell swoop and risk damaging their top League?

is it me or does most people want to turn manutd into a foreign club like L'arse n chelscum ?
I would love us to sign more English/British players carrick as 1. Lennon too, scott parker was a good buy not so long back. If you look back to 99 the home grown english influence, Beckham, nevs, butt, cole, etc etc.

Ferdinand, Brown, Bardsley, Neville, Giggs, O'Shea, Foster, Richardson, Scholes, Smith, Rooney....there's some I've missed out...
United are in NO danger of becoming like Arsenal!

If people like what you say they will click the 'score' under your name, your rep goes up one, if they dont they click dive and you lose one, so you can see the generally better and popular posters by how high their rep is as people agree with them

The question is 'is Gattuso ready to leave Italy or are AC ready to sell?'

I dont want Gattuso, we wan build a winning side around English players, all this talk of Argies and foreigners annoy me, 99 was built on a vast amount of British influx, i want to discover the Keanes, Scholes, Giggs etc, we never will if we just buy names

while i would love to have a team built around a british core like that in '99 i think its nigh on impossible to get a similar team now for a few reasons: 1) that team contained many of those outstanding youth players we brought through and that was pretty much a freak occurance to get so many young high quality english youngsters coming through at the same time at the same club, even now 2 of our brightest prospects are foreign in pique and rossi, so its ambitious to hope the same will happen again. 2)when likes of becks scholes butt giggs keane and so on came into the utd team i think its fair to say utd had by far the best team and squad in england and it was also possible for these younger players to have a bad game and still get the result as the opposition wasnt as strong plus you could to some extent afford to lose more games then, now with the standard of the prem we need top class players to perform consistently and immediatly unless we're prepared to give up the prem for a 3/4 years to build a new young british team. 3)unless we bring the youth through its gonna cost a fair bit to get good english talent at the level we need as english players usually have a mark up on thier price and the likes of tottenham are in a position to push up the price as they dont need to sell.

He was my man of the match today. I wanted United to get him before today and my thoughts are still the same...GET HIM FERGIE!

At this point I'd be happy with ANY signing being a done deal...lol Carrick played well and as I and others have posted before, he'll be a good signing...not the total solution to our midfield woes but certainly a part of the solution.

If he is signed along with a Mascherano or similar combative defensive player we are onto a winner and probably a new formation....probably wont happen though .

Surely all the Riquelme and Carrick doubters have been proven wrong?
Performances from both players at the highest level shows the quality they both have, come on Fergie pull ya finger out
