More i see him, more i realise we'd have to base our whole game around him due to his lazyness, don't see it as missed out on........

yeh same, he is a world class player i don't doubt that but we want 2 box to box mids, not one lazy one who if someones running past him he watches..

i agree that riquelme doesnt seem too have many defensive qualities and could be a liability especially if he's part of a midfield including carrick who has his own defensive short comings.
it would be nice to have the luxury of already having 2 strong defensive high stamina midfielders to add riquelme to but as we dont i find myself wondering if it would be wise to spend a big wedge of our transfer funds on him especially if carrick is another arrival, he's undoutably a class player but he might be a luxury we cant afford to have right now imo.

well then who are the two box to box midfielders we need then? Reo-Coker and Carrick, or Muntari, I was impressed with him. Although I would love to see Riquleme in a United shirt as well.

i would love to see riquelme play for us too its just i think we would need plenty of cover for him as he seems to do zero defensive work, tho maybe thats the instructions he recieves from managers, he might do more if he was asked to. ill be keepin a close eye on muntari against the brazilians it should be a good test of his abilities

Whatever we would end up paying for him, he wouldn't be worth the money.

And I wouldn't, so we'd just have to agree to disagree. Id pay upto 20 Million for Riquleme without a blink of the eye Whatever we would end up paying for him, he wouldn't be worth the money.

i like Riquelme as a player but i dont if he were to play at United if he would turn into another Veron or not? Heinze has adjusted to life in the Premiership very well so perhaps Riquelme could as well
