Carlos swayed by Blues offer!
Roberto Carlos admits he would prefer to stay at Real Madrid, but could well leave if the Spaniards do not match Chelsea's lucrative contract offer.
The Blues have tabled the Brazilian a two-year deal at Stamford Bridge, including the option of a third, with predictably mouth-watering economic terms.
Carlos has just one more season left on his Real deal and confesses to being somewhat unsure of his future with Real currently preparing for presidential elections.
At 33, the full back is determined to make the most of his final years in the game and concedes that the temptation of a switch to Chelsea could prove too strong if Real don't make a comparable offer.
"I want to stay at Real Madrid, that I know," he told As. "But I have very good offers from Chelsea, from Qatar and from some teams in the UAE.
"In London, they have offered me a two-year contract with the option of a third and a very good financial package, and I want to play with high-quality players.
"If Madrid match the offer I will stay, that I am sure of, but football in The Premiership is very competitive and of the highest level.
"I have a contract until June 30, 2007 but I would like to extend it a little further.
"I'll have to speak to the new president and see what he wants. But I have to look for what is best for me and make the most of the time I have left in football.

This guy really gets on my tits. He’s all for going to Chelsea just because they’re offering him the fattest of fattest pay packets ‘’ And I want to play with high quality players ‘’ err, what? He’s at Real; you can’t get much higher quality players than there. A bald midget in his dying years of football who’s realized he isn’t good anymore and is willing to sit on a bench for silly money, rather than play his last few years out at a club that could actually need him, sad.
