Just listened to Guillem whatsit on Sky about the Spanish reaction to "I stay". Seems that Barca had been cooling on his transfer. Problems with balance, need to buy defenders and the fact that Ronnie 1 didn't seem keen had all been mentioned. But most of all, it seems that it wasn't Barca that wanted him as much as Laporta the chairman (wasn't he the guy that "bought" Beckham?)did. So I think the options might not have been allthat good for dear "Bobby". I still think that the one club who need/want him is Madrid and there's no guarantee that "details of the contract" might still stall the deal at Arsenal. That really would chuff me. The look on Arse Vinegar if he toddled off to Madrid - now that would be even better than his mush after Paris.

I'm very surprised he's staying. I'd have thought he'd have rated himself too highly to stay at the 4th best team in the country...whether that be to Barca or any other top team. Bugger.

I don't think he does rate himself and, I reckon, that Barca weren't that sure.Look at his excuses; fans - they haven't changed in the last two months; family - I assume his wife's still English, and football - well if anything things look worse than they did as they didn't win the CL. So if none of these have changed, why didn't he do this signing before. Answer has got to be loot - and I bet Barca have seen something they don't like and have not come up with the goods. And that's why he's signed, presumably after a political raise by Arsenal. Look, no side would refuse him, certainly in the Prem. But when you've got Ronnie 1, who does similar things but much better and more of them - albeit not as quickly - why lash out 35£ mill? And if they don't, and Madrid don't, where do you go? He'd be crap in Italy cos they'd man mark him so tight and kick him so hard. So that leaves him back where he is - king of a very average castle. And what a difference he does make - more's the pity like you said.

I think that Henry's made a mistake in not going to Barca, these chances to go to a really top club don't come around too often.
Arsenal haven't got a hope of winning the Champions League in the forseeable future and don't forget they weren't the best in the Premiership either.
Look at Larsson, he was the top striker at Celtic but he still went to a better team and won the Champions League.

I think he burned his bridges with Barcelona with his post match comments the other day. Rikard wouldn't want a puff headed loud mouth in his team anymore than any other manager would.
Also after watching Henry fluff it....again.....in a big game why would you need him when you already have Ronaldinho, Messi and Eto'o who are all excellent players and crucially all big game players which is not a criticism you can level at henry.
I think what happened was Henry wanted to go to Barca if he was leaving Highbury and then Barca have told him the don't want him either through Eto'o or Guily so he's gonna stay at Highbury like a hero!

We seemed to have missed a large part of his problem. Some Frenchie medecin yanked him outta the womb with a nasty pair of forcepts. Hence, the humongous lumpy gulliver. What a load he´s got protruding from back of head, causing him to freeze in all important moments and act like an ass about it later.
