Andrew Johnson has passed his Everton medical and completed an £8.6 million transfer from Crystal Palace.
The Toffees had been vying for the 25-year-old with fellow Premiership sides Wigan and Bolton, while until recently Palace had retained a glimmer of hope that they could persuade him to stay in The Championship for another season.
The lure of Goodison Park prevailed though, with Johnson keen to ply his trade at one of the country's most prestigious clubs.
There will be keen interest in his performances in the top flight next term, following his prolific goalscoring exploits in Palace's relegated campaign two years ago.
Johnson is also on England's standby list for the World Cup and could be called into the squad if Wayne Rooney is ruled out with his broken metatarsal.
Everton officials travelled to England's hotel to allow Johnson to put pen-to-paper on a four-year contract.
As well as becoming the club's record signing he will also be their highest paid player next season, earning a whopping £40,000 a week. -------------------------------
As if he’s gone to Everton, they’re a shit club. I had to laugh at the ‘’prolific goal scoring exploits’’ part, so he’s scored a few penalties? That certainly doesn’t make him worth 8.5 million, EVERTON you were robbed.

I knew he'd reject Wigan, and it looks like they are going to 'steal' Huth off them too. Which is upsetting to see because finally a new Premiership team is being brave enough to splash the cash and unfortunately all the deals are falling through!
