Who gets your vote?
I would love to see Neville get it.

Whats wrong with picking Theo? Legend in the making that kid.
Anyways voted for Nev, only other player in the team to have won it all on the club stage, well english prizes I mean.

Gary Neville. Although I doubt he'll get it.
If not, John Terry, or if he stops diving, Steven Gerrard.

I think Gary Neville would make the best captain...but they're not going to give it to someone who will retire in a few years time, I dont think so anyway.
So John Terry for me, because he has a long England career ahead of him.

Terry, Nev 'might' not be around by the next world cup so Terry is the better long term captain but if age weren't a factor Neville all the way.

I voted for Gary because he deserves it but rooneylichious is right, Terry will probably be the long term choice or Gerrard. Although Theo is a promising alternate because I haven't seen anyone else work the bench so hard. Sven, if you wanted to take him to Germany to see the matches you could have just gotten him a good seat to every England match.

Neville for a couple of years at least, as a defender he still has a few years to go on the international level. After that who knows, but give it 5-6years and if Wayne's developed as well as people expect him to, he's a captain in the making.

He will be a great choice provided he matures a bit in a few years and understands that the responsibility of the captaincy must come before his temper...

Terry's the favourite of the media what with their comparisons to Moore etc but for me and by the looks of it the majority here it has to be Neville. Good for up to 08 and then as others have said maybe someone will by then have proven themselves ready for the arm band.

Also Cafu being a prime example. Gary will be 35 when the next World Cup comes along. Same age Cafu was in this years tournament. I still think of Fergie's Fledglings as if they're in their early 20's! I think Gary will have a great chance to play that long, who knows, he may even go on for longer. I admire him tremendously the way he has kept a true pro lifestyle, kept himself fit and healthy, tea-total.

Neveilles to old to Captain England He'll be 34 at the next tournament. Mr Gerrard or Terry for me. Neveille should have been the captain already.
