Interesting bit of gossip today saying that Theo's off to WBA on loan - possibly as a sop to get Davies. SO a guy who's supposed to be in our top 5 strikers because of his massive potential has sufficient potential ONLY to play back in the Championship.
I know we loan out our kids for experience but I didn't note many of them in World Cup, did you?

Lol i know, it was ridiculous, though Sven made a point of saying that he believes Walcott to be of massive potential and lets face it, after Owen etc we donthave many future players, the prem is practically foreign, so he said he took him so he would get that experience to prepare him as he will probs be one of Englands players in the future

Bollocks, what does Sven care about the future of English football, he didn't rate Bent or Defoe, and that dirty french man Wenger, duped him into taking his latest little boy, to the world cup for exposure! And Sven being naive like he is decided to trust him. IMO Sven toock him thinking, Defoe and bent aren't good enough but if I take this kid I may get lucky!

sven did his best to only pick from the top four clubs for his entire reign.
when smudge was at leeds he didnt get much of a look in, when we signed him he was in the england squad before he'd even played for us. also, several years later he had to point out to sven that he wasnt fit.
sven picked on reputation and your reputation depended on the team you played for and what praise the manager had given you.

david dein probably suggested walcott to sven and sven being as spineless as he is stuck him right in there, its a shame svens gone as our very own david gill has replaced dein on the FA board and he might have been able to get a few of our unproven prospects into the next squad for a major tournie, ah well never mind.

We have Gill on the board and ex utd no2 as the manager, we won't have anymore problems with england set up anymore I don't think!

Walcott going to Germany was a big mystery to me, especially after all of the trust that Wenger showed in his ability by playing the kid in big matches for L'Arse...oh wait...he didn't play did he? Sven has the reputation of not being a risk-taker, so he probably thought that if he took an unproven player he wouldnt have to use him and he would be seen as taking a risk, but when the time came to use Walcott he got found out.
