Spain score the first penalty of the tournament
GOAL: DAVID VILLA (Pen) - 48 mins After Torres made an excellent, darting run through the middle of the Ukraine defence he was judged to get pulled down by the Ukrainian defender, . The decision though was a joke to say the least and I doubt very much this referee will be reffing anymore games this summer.
RED CARD: VASCHUCK - adjudged incorrectly to have pulled Torres down when he was the last man.
SCORE: Spain 3-0 Ukraine

What a fuckin' goal....Fergie sign him...NOW!
GOAL: TORRES - 81 mins Best goal of the tournament by far, a lovely team effort involving short, quick passes between Puyol, Raul and Torres. Torres was tee'd up by Raul, and Torres proceeded to volley the ball in the bottom of the corner from 20 yards. I hope the rumours are true about Riquelmé and Torres, because I've seen enough of both to suggest they could turn United from runners up to Champions of England once again.
SCORE: Spain 4-0 Ukraine

ITV Commentary: 'If you wanted to value a player it has to be Fernando Torres over Andriy Shevchenko..'
You reckon José is regretting spending £30m on a 30-year old who seems to have lost a little strength and pace?...

what a thrashing...Sheva couldn't even get a consolation goal for the Ukranians! I thought it would have been a more even match. Well the good thing is Torres scored, which is a goal better than Sheva.

Spain hit Ukraine for four.
FULL TIME: Spain controlled this game from the off with Villa and United target, Torres constantly breaking the Ukrainian defence. Ukraine had a few chances but nothing clear cut and they will be concerned and disappointed with how quiet their talismanic, leader Andriy Shevchenko was. I didn't expect such a heavy defeat as Ukraine seem a defensively sound, strong side but Spain exploited the space they were given and used the width of the pitch to their advantage. Playing the ball to feet, quick and slick passes on thefloor got them forward quick. Out of all the teams who want to be winners of this great tournament, Spain look the strongest especially with the luxury of having Raul, Fabregas & Reyes on the bench. Of course England and Brazil will improve but this performance by Spain will have sounded out their intentions to the world.
MAN OF THE MATCH: FERNANDO TORRES (ESP) Great goal, great distribution, great runs, link up play, need I go on. Although Valencia's David Villa scored two goals, Fernando Torres was the liveliest most impressive player today. If the rumours of Fergie looking to bring Torres to Old Trafford and teaming him up with Rooney and Ruud then I would be very excited at the prospect. His contribution was summed up by the ITV Commentary team: 'If you wanted to value a player it has to be Fernando Torres over Andriy Shevchenko..'
MOAN OF THE MATCH: REFEREE'S DECISION TO SEND VASHCHUK OFF. Never a penalty, never a red. This ref will not be reffing another game imo.
SCORE: Spain 4-0 Ukraine

I'd count Barcelona (just signed Gudjohnsen), Chelsea (just signed Shev and offered Drog & Crespo new contracts..but you never know!), Arsenal (no funds) and Real Madrid (no manager or president yet) out!
Although you never know with Chelsea, it may just leave United, Inter and AC Milan in the race.
