Well he's come out and said himself that he didn't ask for Rooney to be sent off, just for the foul, how much truth there is to that only 3 people know.. but i guess we have to believe it, so i for one, was wrong. Still unsure how it will make Rooney feel also.

** He's also said he wouldn't have asked for Rooney to be sent off as they are 'friends'.

He also said the Real rumours are true so I guess that means he wants to leave? See what happens in the next few weeks I guess, not fussed if he stays or goes as long as the decision is the right one for united.

Many club teammates say that whenever they face each other at international level, all club loyalties go out the window for the 90 minutes.
What got Rooney sent off was the stamp on Carvalho, which occurred right in front of the ref, and so didn't need Ronaldo telling the ref it was a foul, which was clear for all to see. Sven says he talked to the ref after the game and the ref told him it was the stamp on Carvalho that got Rooney sent off. Nothing to do with Ronaldo.
Ronaldo shouldn't have got involved, but he had nothing to do with the sending off. Obviously this isn't going to stop the biased southern press from blaming Ronaldo or Manchester United.

Fucking Ronaldo man. Gutted. I can't believe that, the wink and everything, Rooney looked like he's going to punch him. I just heard that Rooney's said he will never play with Ronaldo again, and I don't blame him, same for Rio and Nev. Can you imagine the firist training session?
Rooney's sending off? I'm sorry am I the only one, who SAW THAT HE DIDN'T FUCKING DO ANYTHING? FUCKING PRICKS, I hate portugal and Scolari, what as buch of cheats!
I don't know about anyone else, but don't you think it's a bit harsh giving England (in a game this big) a FUCKING ARGINTINIAN REF?
And Lampard you can wipe that smug cockney grin off your face, you are the worst player at the world cup, probably in the world, you suck and I hope you get a fucking disease!

when ronaldo first came I loved him but my opinion of him has just gone down and down ever since and it dropped even further yesterday. hes a complete playboy cunt. hes like david beckham but with none of the good qualities. i hope he goes to madrid and gets found out there as well. Btw i hate lampard more cos hes a waste of space. Barcelona? no wonder they've decided not to bid for him after all.

No one is to blame for Rooney's sending off other than Rooney. He stamped on the guy's bollocks for christ sake! I love the guy to pieces, but he's got a short fuse when things aren't going his way & he lost it yesterday. Did Eric deserved to be sent off when stamping on John Moncur against Swindon in '94? Yes. Did Keano deserve to be sent off when stamping on Gareth Southgate in '95? Yes. These are 3 of my favourite players of the past 2 decades for United, but they all have such a desire to win that they occasionally lose the plot & over-step the line. As for Ronaldo's part in it; the red card would've been shown either way. Let's put the boot on the other foot for a second. Had Ronaldo stamped on Steven Gerrard do you think Rooney would've just stood there & said nothing? No. He would've been the 1st to react to it. There's a lot being made about the fact that they're team mates but they were playing for their countries; they were opponents trying to progress in the World Cup, the biggest stage of all. I'm gutted that England are out, as we all know that this was probably our best chance since '66 to win the World Cup, but we're always looking to blame someone or something for it rather than accepting we just weren't good enough. I don't blame Rooney, or Ronaldo. In fact, I thought we looked a better team when down to 10 men. But the be all & end all of it was that we didn't produce the performances that were expected. Gerrard & Lampard were ineffective together in a 4-4-2, & even more so in a 4-5-1 that was supposed to give them the attacking freedom they both crave. They were rarely there to support Rooney (I've always believed that Fat Frank was over-rated; almost as much as Michael Carrick, & this has just added to that belief). Also, the fact that Sven bowed to pressure from David Dein & took Walcott rather than someone that could've actually done a job for us was another faux pas, but is now history. I don't know if Ronaldo will stay or go. I wouldn't be too bothered to see him leave for a high fee as, although I feel he will become a great player 1 day, I don't know if that'll be @ United. I think he would do a fantastic job @ Madrid in the hole being left by Zidane; & with the protection creative players are given in Spain by the referees, he could flourish. But if he is to stay then we shouldn't castigate the boy; he was only doing what many of us would in the heat of the moment, in that situation. We have to get behind him, & Rooney; because what counts now is United & our difficult challenge to rise back to the top both domestically & in Europe. To do this we need to support our best players 100%. So let's do that.

This was somewhat overshadowed, however, by a certain Goalkeeper's penchant for wandering...

Ronaldo went OTT, at the beggining of the game, he head butted rooney, i thought that was friendly, but then he winked to Big Phil after getting sen off, then he told the press that he didnt mean to get rooney sent offf

Completely agree with MR. MAY 1999. Sick of all the shit thats going around about ronaldo. Who knows what he said to the referee, or who he was winking at. These suppoesed united fans who say we should get rid. Ridiculous.
Get behind the players. Am sure rooney will get over it in time.

Why are we even havin this discussion, you could tell by Christiano's behavior that he thought he would never play alongside Rooney again. Just let the kid go Madrid, I am guessing it's what he wants. He has admitted he has had talks with the dude who lost the election. He said he talked with the others aswell but they wanted him to sign something and Mir didnt. I personally dont like him now, and i was saying that before the Eng vs Port match. Why should i stand by him when he wont stand by the club which has made him one of the best wingers in the world? My love for Manchester United trancends all, including cheating, judus cunts.

Im only gonna post once on this matter. Ronaldo will be hailed as the man who ended the English dream by Ferguson and therefore I believe he will be playing alongside Rooney next season. Rooney should not of done what he did and the ref said he sent him off for the stamp on Carvalho and not the push on Ronaldo as I thought when watching it on TV. The penalties and anything that happened after the sending off incident pailed into insignificance as I knew we would not progress any further in the tournament with Rooney and Terry missing the next game we simply wouldn't have beaten France without those two players available. I believe we would have beaten Portugal in normal time but it wasn't too be, Id be more pissed off if I was and Argy fan Id want their manager hung and quartered. Dropped Saviloa for Tevez who literraly did nothing, took Riqueleme off when 1 - 0 up and couldn't keep the ball after that which ultimatley was their downfall, and never introduced Messi Better teams then England went out at the Quarter Finals Why are we even havin this discussion, you could tell by Christiano's behavior that he thought he would never play alongside Rooney again. Just let the kid go Madrid, I am guessing it's what he wants. He has admitted he has had talks with the dude who lost the election.
