Alan Smith left me on a free, after he became top goal scorer in Europe, the Prem and won a few awards. Cannot believe it (was unhappy after a 4 month injury, said he wanted a new challenge, wanted to leave, felt he's done all he has done). I thought I'd play him anyway, try and get him happy, or just use him whilst I can, but he still left for Juve. Harrison's retired and Solskjaer is my coach and he's pretty good (set him to shooting, which is 5 stars).

Pique is nearly doing a Smith but is in the stage of 'frustrated at not allowed to move club', so I'm playing him, as he's a couple of games away from replacing 30 year old Rio, anyway.

Can someone print screen their successful tactics? Mine which used to rule in the old versions are wank in this one. I think the game engine is a bit gash as well. Defenders are so stupid sometimes.

Carlito, did you download yours? SI have put versions of 08 out on the net that make you lose every game or something like that. If you've brought your copy from a shop, then ignore the last sentence.

There is no right tactic for general use. I standard flatline 442 is basic and effective. What team and what players are you using? Remember, it has to be a legit version, unless you downloaded it with SI interference.

Hey, I don't yet have the game, would any of you be able to do me a favour?
Could you start a game with a team called Wexford Youths in the Irish second division, tehy're my local team, and have only been founded in the past year, so this is their first season in Ireland's senior leagues, and similarly their first year in FM.

I know several of the lads on that team, would be interesting to see who's in the game of my mates! Would anyone be willing to take a screenshot of the squad, and youth squad, if it's not too much trouble?

I've been asking on FM forums but people aren't as helpful!

I GOT IT FOR CHRISTMAS AND I AM NOW ADDICTED!

Quick question? Has anyone else managed to have a match where the overview afterwards:

a) Had a key man watch of a striker, as I keep getting VDS and Ferdinand for all of my first 14 games as United manager.

b) Had the short overview not say, the game could on another day have gone the oppositions way?



And, I agree with the disallowed goals thing, how many times!!!! AND THEY'RE OFTEN WRONG DECISIONS!!!

I have had fun burying Sammy Lee alive, he said I couldnt take home the title, I said, we'd beat them at the weekend and I hope they crash and burn, we won 5-0!

Bought from a shop. Scholes, Hargreaves and Carrick always play wank, I always score from a penalty in every game, get a goal disallowed every other game and either twat teams or get twatted. t fucks me right off. Why can't defenders fucking defend?

No cheating or anything like that for me.

Also a bit of advice: put Ronaldo's Creative Freedom on Much and he's a demon!

Its a bit boring being United manager though cos the team is already sorted and you can't bring anybody in.

But with a lot of people playing ALWAYS want to bring people in or buy the best players. But i'm seeing if its possible to go through an entire season not buying anyone. I am also managing my local team Hayes & Yeading United.

Cheers fopr the Ronaldo advice, and I would bring Brandy in if I was you, played him 5 times with an extra 2 sub appearances and he scored 8 goals already!!!
