Its 15 quid to watch the fight I was expecting £3.95 or something Last time I watched pay per veiw boxing it was tyson v Brono rematch, me and a few mates came back from the pub and drank 2 bottles of whisky whilst waiting for the bout, I remeber 4o'clock coming and going but fell asleep and missed the bloody thing. Woke up with an evangelic preacher man giving it big lugs at 100 decibels, playing all kinds of havoc with my progressing hang over. Ended up watching the rerun latter in the day. The moral of the story.........dont expect it to be on befor 5am........dont get utterly slaughtered first...........look out for house invading evangelic preachers afterwards "sinners repent"
Really looking forward to this. It really could go either way this bout. Mayflower may be gobby and obnoxiouse but he is an extreamly good boxer, Hatton is a pitbull. He wont stop, he'll just keep coming at you. 7th round KO with Hatton battering pretty boy into a pulp. That's my prediction (guess).

From SKY #boxing#
Ricky Hatton sparred for the first time since his arrival in the States on Monday afternoon.
Training at the Ultimate Fighting Championship gym the Manchester pressure fighter worked with three promising Americans in rotation.
It was the first time that Team Hatton asked for the cameras to be switched off. Ten rounds later the cameras were back on and Ricky was ready to punish his trainer Billy Graham on the body bag.
The body bag's an integral part of Hatton's preparation, a portable punchbag that Billy wears around his midriff. Finally conditioner Kerry Kayes worked Ricky's abs with some gruelling groundwork.
It was all high-octane stuff, Ricky looked sharp and focussed. In truth he looked positively intense. It was all business. The only humour in evidence from Hatton was when he shared a ring with a top amateur.
The eager youngster caught Ricky early with a couple of speedy jabs. Hatton's reaction was a mid spar cry of 'this one's ******* quick' that drew laughs. The next round the amateur had to abruptly quit injured.
The other two sparring partners knew Ricky all too well, they'd been over to Manchester to help in the early preparation. Billy told me they'd tried everything to negate the menacing advance of Hatton, using footwork, holding the centre of the ring, holding, spoiling, all to no avail.
Advantage
It struck me watching Hatton spar that he does get hit a fair bit but strangely that may be to his advantage in this match. It sounds strange I know but here's my reasoning: Ricky has a style that forces opponents to fight. He gets hit because he's always in a position and range to hit back.
Mayweather hasn't really been hit consistently before so if they're both finding each other, then that's got to be to Hatton's advantage.
I do think Hatton might have been too psyched up in the first couple of rounds sparring. The night before we sat with him and watched the latest episode of 24/7, the fly-on-the-wall documentary series that HBO have put together on both fighters - and a series exclusively shown in the UK on Sky Sports. It was quite surreal watching the 24/7 crew filming Ricky watching the 24/7 show!
The scale of this event had already started to hit home. Earlier that afternoon Ricky went to a British themed pub for a game of darts with his brother Matthew. He was so popular that he was a bit late for a photo shoot in front of the famous 'Welcome to Las Vegas' sign.
Back at his rented house the chef cooked a meal, supervised by Kayes and they sat down to eat. I played Mathew Macklin at chess and we waited for the opening credits of a show being beamed coast-to-coast out here.
24/7 was like watching a real-life Rocky movie, with the emotion, the stakes and the pride. No wonder Ricky was pumped up!

I watched the 24/7 program about this fight on SS1 last night. Ricky Hatton seems to be a relly lovely guy - proper family man. I liked the way he said he will NEVER move away from where he was brought up no matter how much money he earns. A real down to earth genuine person - a rare commodity these days..... I really hope he wins

Fuckin' hell, he earns his money, he can spend it out how he wants.
Just because he buys big cars, big houses, 'bling bling' doesn't mean he isn't loyal to where he's from.
You need to watch the interviews with Floyd Mayweather where he's speaking from the heart about his past and why he got into boxing, then maybe it'd open some people's eyes to the actual person.
How many boxers have to play those mind games, so fuckin' what if Hatton is British and down to earth, people have different characters it doesn't mean he's not loyal to where he comes from. Try finding some of the 'heart-to-hearts' with Mayweather they are great viewing and when he says he's the best in the land, he's actually speaking the truth because pound for pound he's the best in the World.
C'mon Floyd!

Mayweather comes across as such an arrogant tosser, seeing him on the 24/7 thing the other day, so cringeworthy. Hatton so down to earth it's untrue, can't wait for the fight hope Hatton kicks the shit out of him.

C'mon Floyd! They were giving the 24/7 show tonight and I was telling my wife how I wondered how much of Mayweather's on air persona is real because I always give people the benefit of the doubt and not assume they can be so egocentric. I think he's smart enough to know that building up a villain and a hero is a story that everyone loves, and having a villain draws more people because they'll buy the PPV package just to see if he'll lose. My issue with him has not been that he spends his money on whatever he wants but more because it's representative of what I feel is wrong with the images projected from the US. This ridiculous notion of materialism being the goal of success, and people being defined by what they own is a constant image which is readily absorbed by youth. I'm not saying it's the end of civilization, but certainly not a step in the right direction. Surely a fight can be marketed by the quality of the fighters rather than the idiotic roadshow Mayweather insists on. Mayweather is great at what he does and is a very successful athlete but the truly great sportsmen have other qualities than just athleticism.

Very good observation actually Mr RY...... It does project a strange image of the US and the 'need' and 'drive' for all things materialistic...... Maybe it works in the US - all the play acting and egocentric behaviour........but for Europe we like the outsiders and those who 'appear real'...... The other point is that Hatton might be bullshitting too...... He is no longer with his sons mother - maybe he has faults we know nothing of as well !!! But all this aside....... It will be a great fight and may the best man win

Not to far off now! Got the usual dilemma do i stay up till 4am without any sleep trying not to fall asleep or do i get an early night and set my alarm for 3am and try not to oversleep? I think I’ll go for staying away and being knackered the next day, what makes it worse is that I’ve got to visit some of my gf's relatives down in Crewe on the Sunday so we're getting the train at about 8 or 9 so i can't even have any sleep after the fight! #yawn#
