I don't see a match thread yet, so I'll jump in. I heard that Frank Lampard's mom passed away last night. So, it's likely he won't be playing Saturday. It's unfortunate that a family tragedy can lead to a bit of a break for us, but that's how it is. Condolences to the Lampard family.

yes, sad news nad he wont play because of this
it will be hard tough game, but we have only chances if we play like tottenham did in league cup final, they outplayed them, much running and movement. win will be fantastic not only to win the league but to broke chelsea home record which is unbeliveable

I don't care if we win personally, I would take a draw now but with both european ties finely balanced it will be interesting to see who plays and who warms the bench. If we lose its still in our hands, if we win thats great, if we draw thats brillant also. Its up to chelsea to beat us all the pressure is on them and they must try to win and that might help us in the long run

Just read on the Times website that Vida will be fit to face chelsea after all. Very good news all round then. Defence should stay the same, Ronaldo and Rooney will start. I have a feeling that Giggsy and Anderson will play. I dont expect to see Tevez, Park and Scholes.
VDS
Brown Rio Vida Evra
Hargreaves Anderson Carrick
Ronaldo Rooney Nani/Giggs
I really think we are going to get the result. I have a feeling Chelsea will make changes. Anelka instead of Drogba, Kalou instead of Cole (Or Malouda). Shame Lampard will be missing (only due to the reason of his absence). Terry looked vunerable on Tuesday night and hopefully we can capitalise on that.

Chelsea are a horrible, horrible team to watch, and i hope they don't drag us down with them. We should be able to get the right result in this match, but they haven't lost at home for god knows how long now, so it might not be as easy as we want it to be.
Still, records are made to be broken.

Still, records are made to be broken. Sure are, remember Arsenal needing to at least draw against us to reach 50 undefeated?! Can't wait for this one....and at a reasonable time of night for us Aussies too!

I'd like to enjoy the fact that Lampard might miss the weekend game, but losing a mother is the worst feeling in the world. Rest in peace Mrs. Lampard.
I think we can get a result. As long as we don't let their strikers bully us.

Personally, i think this game has a draw written all over it.
Chelsea and United will probably be a bit cagey throughout the game, it all depends on who has the nerve to venture forward.
I think this will finish 0-0 or 1-1.
I'd take a point though.

Some very good news!
Nemanja Vidic set for Man United return By Richard Morgan
Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic is expected to have recovered from the upset stomach that kept him out of Wednesday's goalless draw at Camp Nou in time to face Chelsea in the Premier League tomorrow lunch-time.
The champions lead their second-placed challengers by three points with only three league fixtures of the season remaining going in to Saturday's west London summit meeting, although Sir Alex Ferguson's side do significiantly hold a far superior goal difference over their title rivals, meaning they could still afford to slip up at the Bridge and retain their league crown by winning their final two matches of the season.
United did not miss the Serbia international's presence in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final in Catalonia, with his replacement Wes Brown and captain Rio Ferdinand ably snuffing out Barca's attacking threat en route to an impressive clean sheet that leaves Ferguson's side with one step in the Moscow final.
However, Vidic's recovery would nonetheless provide a welcome boost to United ahead of such an important four days in the clubs' season, with the second leg of the Barcelona tie to come at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening, allowing Brown to return to his customary right-back berth, with Owen Hargreaves moving to his favoured midfield holding role.
The centre back had been rushed to hospital on Tuesday night complaining of stomach pains, consuming only a bowl of soup in the 36 hours that preceded kick-off in Camp Nou, and Ferguson had initially appeared downcast as to Vidic's chances of taking his place at the heart of the United defence against Avram Grant's side when questioned on the subject at the full-time whistle in Barcelona.
United remained in Spain yesterday, opting to use Barcelona's training ground by the airport in order to prepare for their encounter with Chelsea rather than fly home in the early hours of Thursday morning, with Vidic taking part in some gentle training. The club's doctors have placed the player on a specifically-designed programme of fluids and medication and have told Ferguson they are confident of his participation against the West Londoners.
Ferguson is wary though of facing a Chelsea side buoyed by the dramatic finish to their Champions League semi-final at Anfield on Tuesday night, when Liverpool left-back John Arne Riise scored a 95th-minute own goal to leave Grant's side with the initiative going into their second leg on Wednesday night with the scores level at 1-1.
"As far as the second leg is concerned, there is no doubt Chelsea’s morale will have been boosted,” the Scot said. “They have a marvellous chance of getting to Moscow after that away goal. It is still an even game and a tight one to call."
But, with Chelsea unbeaten at home in 101 domestic fixtures dating back four years, United know full well the task facing them tomorrow in what will be Grant's 50th match in charge of the home team, although it may not be the last time the two sides face each other this season, with a rendez-vous in the Russian capital still on the cards come May 21.

Firstly, condolences to Frank Lampard for his loss; if he plays or not remains to be seen.
This is the big one as far as the Premiership is concerned; avoiding defeat is the key aim in this game. However, I would rather not be subjected to another Barca-esque performance; not good for the nerves. Arsenal almost pulled it off a few weeks ago, but took their eye off the ball after taking the lead.
The pressure is on Chelsea to win this game, which should give us more space to counter. Hopefully, Anderson will replace Park and Hargo moved into a midfield slot as Vida looks like returning.
I'll plump for the following lineup: -
VDS Brown - Vida - Rio - Evra Ronaldo - Hargo - Carrick - Anderson - Giggs Rooney
The 4-5-1 may well become 4-3-3 depending how the game develops. The midfield battle will be key as the chavs have Ballack, Essien, Mikel, Cole, Makelele, and maybe Lampard to call upon. However, they do tend to pump plenty of long balls up to Drogba.
If I'm optimistic I reckon we can win 2-1, however a more realistic view is 1-1. I would be quite happy with that result.

Can't wait for this matchup. I really think we could have broken their record last season if we hadn't wrapped up the title already.
I can see them resting a few of their players in anticipation for Liverpool. As for Fergie maybe 1 or 2 changes but nothing dramatic I feel

This is going to be one cagey gruelling game. After what happened at Barcelona, with a win at Old Trafford needed to reach the CL final, I hope these games dont exhaust our players - esp. our strike force troika - given that they are close to acheiving true greatness.

I predict another boring defensive draw, and it'll be enough. ;D
