Hi there everyone, Long time no see.
I completely agree with mox deveil, I seriously think that scholes and giggs should miss out on big games simply because when they play we don't have the energy. So we should go with fresh blood.
This is my team: GK: VDS Defense: Brown, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra Midfield: Hargreaves, anderson, Fletcher AML/R: Ronaldo, Nani FC: Berbatov.
Surprisingly i'm gonna leave Rooney and tevez on the bench, to give Chelsea something to think about at half time. The team that i would choose can win the game no doubt. But form isn't on our side is it. GOOD LUCK UNITED.

VDS
Neville Ferdinand Brown Evra
Ronaldo Fletcher Hargreaves Park
Rooney Tevez That's what I'd like to see line up for us. It's probably the most hard working line up we have and that's what we'll need. Keep Nani, Anderson, Scholes and Berbatov on the bench if we need them (we probably will). I'm not too optimistic about this game, I just want to see a commited performance. I'll go for a 2:1 to UTD anyway Tevez, Park.

I don't think we'll win this one but if we actually remember how to pass the ball to each other then we are in with a shout of leaving with a point. I think Berba will start if fit, and probably have Tevez for company. needs to be exactly what Nath has suggested.

Hmmm, when the going gets tough, our players rarely dissapoint.Time and time again under sir alex,we have shown that manchester united has more character and more desire to get things right when it gets tough.I can understand fans saying we wont win this, even i recckon 3 points might be a bit too much to expect. But,i seriously think that we can give them a good game and get a point. Then kick on and go on a long winning run.

I'd love to say that I'm confident we'll win but I can't given the form of both teams. Chelsea's playing rather well while we look like we've just started the season with no pre-season. At this point I'd be ecstatic with a draw.

Chelsea seem to be confident about this one to the extent that anything but a win would be disappointing for them.
Not sure why, i've not been this confident about a United team coming good in a while.
The going isn't that tough at the moment, we had a worse start last season. You never want to lose to your rivals but we can recover all the points we lose against them at home so all the points we win are a bonus. But as someone said before, when we're pushed into a corner we usually come through better off.
We beat Arsenal's unbeaten record which was a lot harder than this to do, i'd certainly not count us out of this one.
As far as the starting lineup goes, i think we'll either go 4-3-3 and bench Ronaldo or 4-4-2 and bench Berbatov. I would be stunned if Evans started, Brown will probably start with Rio and Nev or even O'Shea on the right.

A massive selection headache for the boss.I heard him say that ronaldo is his only dilemma, but i"m sure he"s got other thinks to worry about as well.I"m just happy its he who makes these decisions and he gets them right more often than not. But,this would be my team to start against chelsea- GK-E V D SAR RB-W BROWN CB-R FERDINAND CB-J EVANS LB-P EVRA RM-O HARGREAVES CM-ANDERSON CM-D FLECTHER LM-C RONALDO ST-W ROONEY ST-D BERBATOV Well,i would go with johny evans. The reason is quite clear.Do u change 2 positions because one player misses out? No.Gary neville has hardly had any football and he"s not exactly the quickest anymore. He had a game mid-week,but that was nothing compared to what he will face on sunday.Wes brown at centre half is just a mistake waiting to happen.I would rather play him at fullback, where he is comfortable and go with young evans.I know that its a gamble, but i think for the good of the entire team, its a gamble fergie should take.I would play hargreaves on the right,as thats a position where he did show that he can do a job in.Ronaldo will start for me.I would play him on the left.No scholes or no giggs for this one please.Anderson and fletcher in the middle.Tevez unfortunately sits out.Berbatov(who has a great record against chelsea),starts with rooney. After watching sir alex's press conference,i believe that he will really have his team up for this one.I always back united and i will still do so.2-1 win for us.

Im still confident about Sunday I think well do them and then everyone will wonder why they doubted us....again! Mind you i am an eternal optimist so i would say that. Ill be up at 6 to watch this one as Im back in the States and ill be shouting down the neighbouhood-they wont know what hit them. John Terry is in for a horrid afternoon reliving his biggest nightmare..Viva John Terry!
On a side not how fucking annoying is it that even the pundits now call Terry and Gerrard- JT and Stevie G, it winds me up big time.

NO WAY SHOULD TEVEZ BE DROPPED!
If we are picking two upfront it should be Tevez and Rooney or Berbatov and Tevez, neither Rooney or Berbatov deserve to start ahead of Carlos. He and Ronaldo will be our best chance of goals on sunday!

honestly, i reckon we shuld start nani on the left and ronaldo on the right. nani was puttin some awsum balls in to the area against villareal and if we put ronaldo and maybe berbatov on with nani, it could be a real good day for us

difficult to call ..... chelski are almost certainly favourites...but games like this form can so easily go out the window..... i think we'll be the more up for the game, even though they'll want to get some form of revenge for Moscow, im not sure how important that will even be for some of them, and we wana show everyone that we can beat ANYONE home or away, including the russians. with ronnie back, im going for a united win...COME ON UNITED!!!!!!!

I agree with coogie, its going to be a real big ask, we don't look as fit and sharp as chelsea at the minute and I do think everyone is asking alot of ronaldo just because he's back.
If we are to beat chelsea we have to target picking them off on the counter attack. They are vulnerable on the flanks because scolari has his full backs push right forward, whether they do that against us only time will tell. The midfield is massive, they have more quality than us there, I will admit that but our forwards have to get in the game unlike the liverpool game. I'd be getting ronaldo at terry at every opportunity because he has dick all pace and jo made him look like a mug. Its a massive game, I know we have a game in hand but 9 points is massive.
