Terrible defending, it took an 18 year old to come on in order to shore it up.
Can't criticise our attack too much, we created so many chances and should have taken more, Rooney could've had a hat-trick by half time.
It's not a massive blow though, we're not in full swing yet but we're still right up there. Let's not forget that we've played all of our hardest fixtures this season away from home, so the second half of the season will be the key for us. As long as we have a strong Christmas we'll be right up there come the end

There are few things that make my stomach churn in anger, losing to Arsenal is one of them. Enough said.

I'm afraid you can criticize the attack for not putting the ball in the back of the net! Our goal came from a right back ffs. You can guess I'm not happy. Yet another game of many chances and poor finishing. The Neviller was crap and is certainly looking out of his depth; it was no surprise that Le Arse proposered on the left. Why is he picked ahead of Wes? VDS also flapping like a condor once again. My vote goes on Foster to replace VDS and Wes or Rafael to replace Neville; as both should be put out to pasture. Let's return to our 90's values and give youth a chance! Does anyone else feel that we are missing Carlos as No. 2? I'm not convinced that Phelan is cutting the mustard. This is a blow, because if Liverpool and Chavski win, we'll be 8 points adrift. Ah well, onwards and upwards.

Disappointed at the result, especially considering we didn't deserve to lose what was a great game of football.
I can't criticise any United player out there today, they all played well and should have got atleast a draw out of the game.
Apart from two ten-fifteen minute periods, United dominated the game and should have had more than the one goal we came out of it with, that chance just after Nasri's second should have been buried by Ronaldo and if it was I think we would have went onto win it.
We dominated the game but didn't finish the chances we had, just like on Wednesday and we need to really see to that and sort it out. At 0 - 0 Rooney had two chances that should have been buried and the whole face of the game would have been different, we may have had a penalty too, Clichy's handball, similar to Carrick's at Stamford Bridge last season, but we just didn't get the rub of the green today in front of goal.
I don't think Arsenal deserved the win but today, with the injuries they had, hats off to them.
You'd be a fool to count United out of this title race too, we've got the rest of the top four at home still to come.

You're right andoverred, the attack should be criticized. Two goals in the last two games is a desperately poor return for all the posession we've had. The defence has been shoddy all season and that's where CQ's influence has most been missed. Nowhere near as tight as last season. It's no use sticking our heads in the sand and saying "We had a poor start last season and that turned out alright." It's not good enough. By this stage last season we were motoring. The writing was on the wall last week against Hull. Despite their gutsy performance there is no way they should score 3 goals against the European champions in our backyard. This isn't a knee-jerk to todays result but it's been coming since the 2nd half against Everton. Rio looks like he's carrying a knock and as much as it pains me to say it Gary Neville is a pale shadow of the player he once was. He was all over the shop today and it was a relief when Fergie hauled him off, which is so sad considering how much of a major part he's played in the last decade. We have a relatively straight-forward run-in in the league but the danger is we're leaving ourselves with so much ground to catch up that we'll run out of time and we'll have no margin for error. Rant over!

i think i have to agree with andover, for arsenals second goal gaz nev got turned by fabregas like he wasnt even there.
I think we deserved at least a point from the game but just had no luck what so ever, Arsenal didnt even play well they just got lucky with there first.
We need to be more clinical in front of goal, there was a pull back that was blazed over the bar from the edge of the box by rooney in the first half and i cant help but think that he wulda scored it if it was last yr, he just didnt have his shootin boots on today.
i agree with playin park because he works his ass off when arsenal have the ball and really kept walcott quiet today, think he only had 1 chance the whole game.
just hope reults go our way for the rest of the weekend and dont forget we still got a game in hand so we'll b up in the mix if we win that

Frustrating day , can't believe we lost after so many chances! Finally a 18 old shows the team how to defend and score ,ffs!
I think Neville and VDS need to get their act together pretty soon , they already have Foster and Rafael knocking on the door. Can't really blame any for the defeat , he had better share of possession ,created chances but couldn't score them. Arsenal played brilliant football and more importantly took their chances. Funny how after all the injury crisis bullshit , they have everyone but Adebayour fit.
We will be 8 points behind with a game in hand. Doesn't matter than much if we buck up now. We've played 4 of the toughest away games.

Very frustrating. I don't think we pressurised them enough. After Wenger came out and said all that about Stoke and Arsenal are being treated unfairly in games, I thought Fergie would have really geed the boys up and told them to really get stuck in, if they don't enjoy a physical game, be physical, and there wasnt any of that. Disappointing. I agree totally with andoverred. Fergie has to be ruthless again and make some decisions where he may not really want to make, but he has to make them. ie. tell Neville he is no longer good enough and give Rafael a good run in the team, i'm really excited about him, great goal today too. Van der Sar, that wasn't a goalkeeping performance we have come to expect from him. We could say he just had a bad day, but this is a game where he had to be at the top of his game and by his standards he was woeful. Mike Phelan. I don't really want to be harsh on him, but I was surprised when Fergie made him number 2. I was expecting Fergie to bring in a more 'experienced' man in. I don't know how good tactically Mike is, but as we're now 4th in the table and could move down to 5th if Hull win today, it makes me think would we be in this position if Carlos was still at United? I don't think we would.

1. defense has been suspect all season. 2. fergie is way to loyal and one thing he can learn from wener is when to let go, lets be honest if keano legend no doubt didnt rant at the players he would have stayed at utd, anyone could see he was not the same, message to fergie learn to move on, red nev will NEVER be the same player, he will try but injurie layoff and father time have crept in, all this talk of a new contract for him or giggs needs to stop. 3. if rio is carrying a knock y is he playing in such a big game, evans is more than capable and able. 4. i am so tried of these missed chances chelsea of all teams have outscored us. 5. have the players forgoten how to get it on for 90 mins for a big game, liverpool 45 mins of good play as with chelsea.

I don't think we would. all i can say on this is that queiroz would have strongly objected to nev playing knowing that he would struggle against the slicknees of arsenal. its sad but many people said manutd 3-0 win or easy win, i said arsenal are no mugs and can out pass us all day if we dont play 100%. the results are we lost and are playing big time catch, chelsea are fying forget roma defeat thats the champs league, in the prem they are running tthe show and if it carries on they will be very worthy winners.

There are two things that really make me cringe. 1. Losing to Liverpool. 2. Losing to Arsenal. Now we have done both, but I am especially dissapointed because we should have fucking murdered the Arse today with the chances we had. I said yesterday, it will be a matter of our finishing. It was the lack of it that did us in.
