Really looking forward to this, think it will be an absolute cracker. I enjoy the big fights and the Calzaghe fight was awesome, I hope this one is as entertaining. I love Hatton fights because they are usually entertaining and his style is endearing, but if he ever loses like against Mayweather, I see him lying there covered in blood in his Citeh shorts and I cant help but smile. Its always win/win for me when it comes to Hatton!
Noel and Liam Gallagher are carrying the belts out for this one so its going to be an even bigger Citeh love in! Hello Hello we are the Busby Boys........
Good fight. It was to be expected that he would out class Malignaggi as no one at light welterweight can touch him. Malignaggi did well staying on his feet but he never had anything that would hurt Hatton. He has no choice but to step up to welterweight, in which case i'd like to see him fight Cotto.
moxdevil - It was a good fight indeed. Hatton realised that Malignaggi couldnt hurt him so he could just wade through his jab.
All the talk in the US is of Hatton facing the winner of De La Hoya v Paquiao (in a few weeks). Now that is a fight i would like to see. Im still sceptical about Hattons ability when faced with a highly skilled boxer who can actually hurt him, i guess we will find out if this fight happens.
If De La Hoya comes down to light welter for that one, which I was reading on SSN that he might do, then Hatton has a better chance, would be a HUUUUUUGE fight though, especially if they held it at wembley.
I don't understand all the hype surrounded by this victory.
Hatton dropped down a few levels in going for this fight, he flopped against Mayweather and got taught a boxing masterclass and then takes on this guy, nothing special, won a title or two but beating him is nothing special.
It was a hand picked fight that no one expected Hatton to win and that's how he'll end his career unless he takes on De La Hoya, who's best days are behind him, in a fight Hatton will lose.
Hatton is nothing special, just hyped up by the media, Mayweather showed that.
busby boy after watching the fight i agree. lets start with the first or second round not sure which one but malignaggi's jabs where on radar with hattons head, a boxer with mopre power would have knocked him out. hatton is a good boxer but in all honesty malignaggi was robbed by his corner in the fight. yes he was losing and had no chance of winning, but there was a round and a half to go, he was battered by cotto, broken cheekbone and jaw and all but they didnt stop the fight. in stopping it they made hatton look real good thus allowing the media hype and the set up to fight oscar or manny. if he fights manny he stands a chance imo, with oscar no way, he will get knocked out.
agreed oscar just wants the cash but no doubt he can bang and has a solid jab imo he would hurt hatton real bad if he can train with the intensity he did for mayweather problem will be he wont cos he will see ricky as beneath him. manny i havent seen many of his fights but by all accounts he is supposed to be the top man as of now
I'm a boxing fan, not a British boxing fan. So I wouldn't have any bias towards any one but Hatton fails to live up to the hype he has.
He thought he was good enough for Mayweather and he wasn't and before the Malignaggi fight (a fight which was hand picked, obvious Hatton win) he was talking about taking on De La Hoya (although washed up, would have done Hatton) and Pacqiuao - the best pound for pound since Mayweather's retirement.
He doesn't deserve a fight against the best pound for pound boxer in the World, he isn't good enough, everybody saw that against Floyd.
If you're a fan of the sport why are you talking such bollocks about Hatton? The guy has a 45-1 record and has held all the belts at light welter after beating everybody at that weight. He lost only to probably the best pound for pound since a young Tyson which is no embarrassment, especially as everybody else that has fought Mayweather has gone the same way. What is this fictional hype you are going on about? The bulk of the media coverage of the Malignaggi fight was relating to Hatton having Mayweather Snr in his corner, and little to do with the challenge or lack of that Malignaggi was to represent.
This crap about deserving to fight someone? Hatton is no road sweeper turning up to collect his greens. The same could have been said about Manny straight after he lost to Morales a few years back.
How does Hatton deserve to be in the same ring as Manny Pacquiao?
He was out classed by Floyd and won't stand a chance against Pac Man. You win big fights to get big fights and he hasn't, he is a good boxer but that's it. He's not one of the best out there, no where near the best out there so shouldn't be given a fight against number one.
He's given this hype as one of the best out there but he isn't.
He beat Tszyu, probably his biggest success but people failed to look at the fact that Kostya Tszyu had fought once in two and a half years and was thirty-six years old.
Brent Matteo, a writer for Boxing Scene said it best, "Hatton challenge Mayweather: If you think that you're either English or follow the crowd!"

cjjagzmoni: Pogba is a good lad minus the showboating..I think at Juventus he had Older players like Pirlo,Chiellini,Marchisio,Bonucci who shout and screams at him so he was more serious at Juve ,We dont have those type of leaders at United to caution him.
