But, he didn't say it! I'm so confused. Why is he a mercenary and a prick now? He has specifcally said he didn't make those comments.

VIVAAAA RONALDOOOO
I don't believe for one second that he said he'd join city - seriously, he was here long enough to know what the score between us and them are- He's also still close to the gaffer
There would be more chance of his joining kabalalawhalla FC in uganda before he join's the massive

They're not going to sign him, not unless Real are suddenly desperate to sell or Ronaldo is absolutely desperate to leave Real. If they are to turn his head, they would have to offer staggering wages, and considering he's already on staggering wages, it would add a shit load to City's wage bill. Spending at least £80 million on him and then having to cover his wages would be bad enough, but it would set the bar even higher at City. If Ronaldo was earning, lets say, £300,000 a week (not unreasonable considering the rates they already pay) why shouldn't Kompany earn at least £200,000. Then every other player that joins after that, provided they have a sensible agent, would want a similarly high sum.
THere is just no way that could be swallowed by City if they're going to satisfy FFP. They're talking about a Stadium naming deal, well considering it would have to meet market rates (ie, they can't just sponsor it for £10 billion) even that would leave them struggling.
Besides, the signing of Ronaldo would be a status thing. City do not really need that any more. If they're smart, they'll be after the best young players, players that will give them at least 5-6 years. They already have a nucleus, they need to build a team now, not just throw players together.
It's like us, we've spent shit loads this summer, and we have done previously, but whenever we have, these new players were joining a very much established team. Jones, Young and De Gea are joining a team that has been together for many years now, the likes of Ferdinand, Fletcher, Rooney, Vidic, Evra and Giggs know the club, so the squad evolves over time. City need to start doing the same.

Hat-trick in the 1st game of the season. Bets now for how many he'll have by the end?

It's pretty boring now Ronaldo scoring all the time. I know it's a bad time to say this after today's results in the Prem, but La Liga is just so uncompetitive. I don't think Ronaldo's current achievements are any more impressive than scoring 42 that season for us in a much tougher division.

I know what you mean. It's like that season when Larsson got 50 goals in the SPL.

I know what you mean. It's like that season when Larsson got 50 goals in the SPL. That's not really fair, the SPL was a decent league back then. Maybe not has high quality football, but more competitve than La Liga at least. Take your point though.
