Sportspeople are so often accused of this sort of thing and so rarely actually guilty, I'm reserving any sort of reaction. Leaning towards probably untrue.

This is highly controversial as an opinion , but it must be said.
Goes without saying that everything below is based on the sketchy information we have as of now and it might all be untrue .
This woman had no problem taking the supposed payout at the time. It's been 9 years , and now suddenly she feels like resurfacing about this alleged rape ? Did she waste away all the money ? It's one thing if she was forcefully silenced and intimidated, but she allegedly took a payoff. Why is she suddenly going public?
I too will wait until there is more evidence on the matter.

Paying someone to keep quiet is damning whichever way you look at it. that for me is rather troubling. sadly you will get some advisers who just think, pay up innocent or guilty and let the matter die immediately. |
